Gold making question

TL;DR How are people making 100k+ gold on characters?

I’ve been noticing that a lot of people in my guild actually have between 100k to 1million gold across all characters. I’m not just throwing a number out there, cause one of my guildmates recently transferred over to my server bringing his old guild and 1M in gold.

I actually tried to buy an auction house add-on and got suckered into wasting over 3k gold (and $40 for the add-on) by buying something ‘supposedly’ at a huge discount. I later found that the same person simply listed two items for 5,000 and then another for 1,500. I bought up a bunch of these and now am suck with green items I can’t sell

Personally I have never had more than 10k gold across all toons, now much less because of the above scheme. So my question is what are people doing to make gold? Is there a special gold farming profile? What would be a safe way to work myself towards my goal of 50k gold?

Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not looking for a ‘get rich now and banned tomorrow’ plan. I have no intention of getting 50k now or in a week or two. But is there a consistent, less-risky than playing the Auction House method of getting to my goal in a month or two? Preferably using Honorbuddy since I work full time and don’t get a lot of time to actually play the game outside of the raids I run twice a week.

P.S. I just want the gold for the sake of having it really Would love to get a few mounts as well. I’ve set two goals of getting to 50k and then 100k. I don’t have a deadline set because I truly don’t know or understand how to get there and how long that would take. Hopefully a month or two to get to 50k ….

Lol well I haven't played WoW since the release of Cataclysm. Just returned a couple of months ago. I'm 27 and work full time so don't have a lot of time to experiment and check up on this stuff so join date 2010 ... means very little I'm afraid.
Also, I speak English fairly well, but have no clue what "gatherer till tha delete." means.

Oh and I didn't name the add-on because I don't want it to seem like a flaming post. I'm sure it has its merits but I haven't studied the WoW economy to be able to use it to its full potential.

If you just want to make 50k in a month how about using any farm profession? Seriously 50k is nothing. Even just by farming and selling it to vendors you get 50k in a month.

To be able to play the economy you need budget, which 3k isn't really.

Take a character, level some gathering professions, process what you have farmed and just sell it.

I just don't know how to and was wondering if there are other ways to get the gold I want by using HB.

Thanks for the suggestion of using a farm porfession. I have a miner/herbalist but I never saw him bring in enough gold to amount to 50k in a month. I suppose I must be doing something wrong. Let me revisit that approach and see if I can get better results in the next week. Thanks mate.

I am curious would you mind PM'ing me the ADDON name? I do have things from others site like prior acquiring this bot I had a lifetime on dugi's guide which has an amazing addon for several things and at the time I also won their auction house but its a video guide of the sorts not a addon.

Aside from that with Honorbuddy you could level a toon to 85 or 90 depending on what sells really good on your server and just farm that, have you toon into a guild that you can throw the gold into and retrieve with your main or a toon within your main account to keep it on low profile. You can also shuffle mats.

I mean even only 1 gather character farming for ~6 hours each day will result in thousands of gold within few days. If you craft stuff out of it and sell a wider range of items even more.

You could get a gather toon (with herb/mining) and farm whatever mats that sell on your AH. If you have a JC/ench you could prospect the ore into gems, craft blue quality gems, the green ones into jewellerely then vendor/sell/DE them depending on what works on your server. Same with Alchemy, you make the pots that sell you the most, if pots aren't selling then perhaps Inscription things. You gotta research your market, even if just for 10 mins, to see what sells and for how much, then decide what to farm. Then you just farm with your gathering character and mail the mats to appropriate characters, process the materials and then sell on AH.

There are also instance farming profiles, straight up farming profiles, skinning, daily profiles, etc. You earn money the same way you would normally in WoW, but you just pick profiles for it and use the bot instead of doing it manually by playing yourse.f

I ran it for two or three hours (I'm pretty conservative with the time I bot, using LogMeOut to stop it after about two hours) and at the end I would have say 4 - 5 stacks of Ghost Iron which sell for a little more than 60g on my server. Thats about 300g, no where near what I would need to get to 50,000.

Thanks for the advice. I don't have a JC but I do have an Ench and Alch. I'll look up what potions and enchants sell well and see if its cost efficient for me to make those.

Another fine way to earn some gold is selling bags. Everyone needs them and the 22 slots still sell for a good amount of money.

You will preferably need 2 chars. One need tailoring with the northern cloth scavenging skill and mining. Let this toon farm embersilk cloth (some good profiles for this to find on the forums). Make bolt of embersilk from all the cloth you farmed. Farm obsidium and elementium ore after and send all the ore to your 2nd char.

This 2nd char need to have JC and enchanting. Create cataclysm rings and necklaces with all the ore from the 1st char. D/e all the rings and necklaces after. Send all the hypnotic dust from d/e ing to your first char

The first char now creates embersilk bags with the mats to sell on AH.

Try searching on your AH and see what is selling well in regards ore besides Ghost Iron perhaps there is a different one that is not being collect by a lot of people and you might make more gold than with ghost iron.

On my server for example rugged leather sells for 300g the stack.

Are you talking about Tycoon? Or something.. It's not a bot base, but rather an addon that Manaview sells. He has nothing to do with HB as far as I know.

Ways to make Money include relatively simple farming mats with Herb/Mining or farming instances selling the items on AH.
You don't necessarily need profs even if they do tend to help a lot. Especially in new Expansions.
A way to make huge money is simply 'playing' the AH. Buy stuff low, sell stuff high. It's a Wall-Street type of thing.
It requires some knowledge about what you're doing though. When I was noob, I made a mistake, I saw a guy selling an item expensively, and a guy selling cheaply, bought all items cheap, couldn't sell most of the items until a month later.
Either way, search the AH and 'study' it. When you find a mat that you think sells fairly well and for a good amount of gold, farm it and sell it. Just remember, it won't remain constant. And item farming for Transmog etc is good too.

It sums up quite much, there are sites like the consortium and they have all kinds of basic guides, you just need to figure what sells on your server, on some servers you can play the AH with the Ghost Iron shuffle, simply buying Ghost Iron Ore off the ah, so i recommend you to check what works on your AH and then figure which profiles you need to make it automated, but of course the easiest way is usually gathering herbs/ores, or leather and selling them on the ah because they are the base for most professions .

This is what I should have started with. I would just like to know if there is a way to get to my goal of 50,000 gold by June using Honorbuddy for a few hours a day. From the responses it seems that the consensus is farming and crafting professions.

With what I have to work with, I guess the best course of action would be to gather herbs and mines on my gathering toon and then sell them on the AH. That is what I am going to try.

Use the gatherbuddy portion of HB, download a profile from one of the forums here. At 60g per Ghost Iron Ore stack, you should be making about 1.5k an hour. The GIO at my servers are usually around the 40g mark, and my toons make about 800-1.1k g/hour.
