UNBAN Oksehode ***please***

kinda harsh i guess rules are rules but driving away someone who contribute a ton to the community is just bad.

He made a few packages so he violated the rules multiple times.

Nevertheless he is/was one of the most valuable members at the moment. Without his work we would still not be able to run rift nearly as afkable as we are now and the whole demonbuddy bot would be pretty useless.
Instead of banning such a valuable and dedicated member he should get paid for what he did.

I agree! I would love to get him unbanned because he helps a lot to this community!

There's very good reason for that rule though. Oksehode could easily have disributed a keylogger in the package in a couple of weeks and 200 people would download his package without suspecting a thing.

Point is, DB is an executable that requires administrator permission to work. A bad version of DB could cause a whole lot of trouble.

That said though: Unban him! :) He is idd a valueable member of the DB community atm.

Oksehode worked selflessly on projects for betterment of the community. He is a key player in our community developement IRC, and has helped countless people on this forums; both those who were advanced and those who needed very simple help.

This is a perfect example of a lack of attentiveness by the DB staff to culminate into a knee jerk reaction that was excessive.

Someone who for no gain has put his time and effort into bettering someone elses product who does not have time to maintain it at high operational standards. Kind of backwards in my opinion. A simple removal of thread, or warning would have been more than adequate.

Strange how this rule is to prevent malicious intent, yet the community mods don't notice the infraction for weeks (despite being a top trending thread), and after it has helped hundreds of people then drop the ban hammer.

These are my opinions alone.

This is quoted from Oksehode at his request.

I think the permanent ban that was handed to me for helping dozens of users making Demonbuddy work with the RiftBot profile and probably other profiles as well was unjustified and unreasonable.

I've put countless hours into helping people on the forum and this is how I am repaid? A hammer in the face when I woke up this morning.

I'm pleading you to reconsider and lift the ban so I can keep the RiftBot project going and helping people.

I will find some other way to redistribute my compilation tweaks.

I give you that. But as I already mentioned in the RiftBot Thread.

He did something that was very important for a lot of people who simply couldn't set up demonbuddy for rifts. Without his work a lot of people would still not be able to run the bot they paid for.

I want to say that DB itself is pretty much a useless exe which does not perform anything valuable on its own. Th whole project is driven by the community and therefore the DB Staff should reconsider the usability and the ergonomics of the bot.

We need more out of the box working distributions. Even Plugin and Profile installation should be handled from within Demonbuddy.

Either they give a few developers the permission to make compilations or they make it easier for people to setup this Bot.

Demonboys are lazy.. only one that does any type of work is Rrrix.. and is he even a part of DB?
had this been anything else then a bot no a single soul would have paid u guys a cent lol.

now unban him!

Was doing a4 bounty all these while, collected tons n tons of rift frag. So I started the Rift Bounty.. i have to say Oksehode was always there(old thread n the new thread) when there is any error in the profile. And he did his best to help those who are in need by compiling it and allow us to download it. He really did us a great favor. I really hope Oksehode will be unbanned and come back to this community. : )

Peace out~~

Wow, that was a harsh decision.
Please unban him, it looks like a honest mistake... give him a second chance.

Every bot before demonbuddy or honorbuddy etc, has done this and has been shut down by blizzard very easily. For what these guys are doing is falling threw a ***** that allows them to build this bot because really its not them thats making the bot work for its the community that is preforming these actions that are taken in game. So this means that is near impossible for blizzard to shut them down...

I understand why he was banned, but I'm confused as to why rrrix posted a warning regarding his distributing a compiled installer.exe without source code and then he was immediately banned anyway.

Because logic.

Well it was a bannable offense... I wish they'd have mercy on all of us and unban him, but I'm in no position to tell them how to run their business.

I get your point. There may be a workaround for this. Create another company (maybe in another country), give the other company the right to extend, alter and redistribute demonbuddy. Make it a pay per month premium service so the developers get their cut.

But anyways...Unban Oksehode!

lol everyone could post something thats against the rules by mistake

he was a great dev so please unban him.
he was helping so much here

FREE Oksehode! I can't believe Demonbuddy would ban a Top Contributor on these forums. Without people like Oksehode, rrix, Kevin Spacey, DyingHymn, and a lot of others, Demonbuddy would be USELESS! I really do hope that the Mods reconsider the permanent ban. I'm not saying he didn't break the rules, but I don't think a permanent ban is the right course of action. (WE the community do not know whether or not if Oksehode was warned previously about doing this or not, as far as our knowledge he was not).

This is just dumb. The package was a great addition to fresh buddys to setup the bot.

This rule could be dodged by making the valued 3rd party develepors "trusted" members, so that these guys could upload this kind of packages.. Introduce a +rep system, and that way make the community decide whos trustworthy enough to get the packages from..

neway, unban the guy, he´s intentions was within the right place all along.
