Question about being reported

So I started using gather buddy to farm ghost iron ore a few days ago. I have been avoiding the AH and only posting the ore for sale in trade chat. Well this guy got pissed because I wouldn't sell him the stacks of ore for 25g a pop and said if I don't sell them to him he's reporting me for botting (word for word).

Obviously I don't know if he really reported me, but what precautions should I take now? I found a supplier that said he will buy as much ore as I can COD him so I won't be needing to advertise in trade chat anymore.

I would keep your use of GB2 to a minimal only 3-4 hours a day and make it look like a human is playing, but if he reported you, blizz might be looking at you so maybe stay clear from GB2 in general for 3-4 days, I don't have much xp I've never been reported.

Yeah I never have either and I've been using HB for awhile now...Just not GB. I'm thinking of starting a second account under a different name to use just as a botting account.

Yeah a lot of people do that and you can pretty much pay for the gametime from the gold you make, I'm gonna do that eventually as well.

I believe Blizzard will just delete the ticket. If they check the logs, they see that he tried to blackmail you, he has no proof, you just flew around and gathered some herbs.

Right. I'm just going to PvP bot on a few of my different toons. Is it true that they have software that can detect 3rd party apps on your computer or is that a myth? I thought they judged whether you are botting or not by physically watching you and teleporting you. I could be wrong, but it seems like a violation of privacy by being able to inspect someones PC, but I've never read the terms that in depth.

Don't do PVP Bot. Do Dungeonbuddy, do nothing, do Gathering, do everything but don't do PVP. It will get you insta-banned. I don't know if it is fixed by now, but last time I checked, you could see 10 people walking exactly the same path. HB users^^

They might deteted 3rd party apps on your computer even tho it's a violation of privacy, however US laws regarding privacy might be more loose then the one's in Germany.
What is true is, that they might scan their own memory, which HB manipulates, it could be detected anytime.

I however believe, that Blizzard mostly bans by reports. If you get reported over and over, they check your account, that might not only be physically watching and teleporting but many more. Is CTM enabled, how often did you get stuck, what node per hour did you have.

I believe that they could easily ban most of the botters, just based on behaviours, if they wanted to. (For example they never do the ship quests in Deepholm, they always have the same quests done and the same not done. etc pp) but they just don't care. You are supplying them with money and you won't quit the game (because the dailys are not annoying, because the bot does them).
However If other players get angry because of you, they need to do something against you, so they ban you.
My thesis is supported by the fact, that ppl. can nearly always turn a perma ban into a 72h

Yesterday I was whispered about being reported (from three players) at archeology session in Winterspring. I answered right away and we had stupid conversation when I tried to convince them I'm not a bot (duh). Can't say I panicked but to be sure, I wrote a ticket about being bullied and "reported" for doing archeology on lowlvls and about occuring email and account strange pasword changes. GM unswered there's nothing to be afraid untill I actually use bots, I don't know what I've expected, to be sure I changed my acc password twice just in case.

I have never recieved any warnings or suspentions before, is it possible to catch perma-ban in my case? I've been doing archeolody 24/7 and did some BGs (2-4 on ~60lvl) but I was always at computer to write stuff in chat and monitoring PMs. If I'm doomed, when to expect a ban? On next banwave or it happen occasionly?

Pointless worrying about it, you could be banned at anytime. Just because a few peopel whispered you saying reported, doesnt mean they actually would of. Also, think about how many people you pass, whats to say everyone of those didnt report you also but didnt bother to whisper you?

If i am whispered and im near the computer, i normally reply with "Thanks" it puts them off a bit. Once you start arguing with them and such, all you're doing its giving them more ammunition to stalk you with.

Still, how ban system works? Account got marked as violated and will be banned next banwave or GMs work with every account when problem occures?
