A game without an auction house is worth playing?..

It's not about money, it's about the ability to generate income. I don't sell gold or sell real money, the idea that I can't buy gear for sets that I may have wanted is just absurd.

Edit: It goes without saying that a game without a monetary icon is a dead game. You can't expect to make gold grinding all the time, and even if you capped what would you spend it on? What would be the purpose of having an income you can't invest? If they did this shit to WOW the forums would be raged and ravaged daily, the point is you don't completely remove a system that works.

Gold in Diablo is spent mostly on crafting. Crafting gear and crafting gems. IMO The Real money AH(maybe not the gold one) is what broke Diablo III in the first place. I'm glad to see it going.
 
lol, I'm not sure people are getting the idea that you basically have to grind and when you get there then what?... This is just like WOW professions everything a daily grind, they're desperate to keep people grinding. Even with a bot grinding is just an UGH wtf!

spend gold to craft
its ez to find gear while botting (i assume ur a botter) found enough gears while botting to get 6 accounts to b able to do mp10 before the patch and after the patch i found enough gear for my monk to do t6 in just a few days
theres a game called path of exile which doesnt have money n its quite popular as well
 
at least with smartloot its easier to get good items by drop/craft for the active char.

Closing the AH is the best thing to happen to Diablo, if only they add ladders the game will be worth playing again.
 
All my cousin does in diablo is play the AH; he's pissed.
We're both gonna play through the new act then pretty much quit until the next expansion.. Again.
 
I don't remember playing Street Fighter II or Gradius III for cash. And as far as I know, these games didn't had any Auction House, isn't it? Maybe this way I'll get to play D3 for fun, at least for once...

And yes, botting is still an option (unless you want to endlessly grind paragon levels, ofc)
