Hi, I would like to buy a new pc to run bots.

I'm only feel safe to run with virtual machines on.

My question is whats the maximum number of VM that can run on one pc. (I have a i7-3770, geforce 560ti, 32 GB ram pc, that thing can only run 6-9 VM's)

In short, please answer my question stated in heading.

Thanks for your expert advise.

6 core will run way more. That said, using VMs is a complete waste of time and resources.

VMs are not a waste of time, i've been botting for 7 months with them and not a single ban

before i didn't use them i got 12th of my accounts banned.

It is a total and complete waste of time, that is for sure. What is worse, it is a complete waste of resources. That has been confirmed and proven long time ago.

How many chars are you botting with anyway? And which seven months would that be? Because there was a time, when they didn't ban and everyone botted for months without getting banned. Moreover, the reason for flagging/banning people hasn't been determined yet, there are only speculations. It is much more likely that you got away with it, because you didn't use D3Starter. In fact, i am pretty sure that's the only use of VMs- they make you install different instances of the game.

You're a botting noob, we've all been botting since 18th december without a single ban. And on the 18th december, they banned everyone, even people with VMs plus ip changes, and with the bots only playing 8 hours per day on different profiles.

I've been botting for more than 9 months, without VMs, 24/7, and i reused the battlenet accounts were i had been banned.

i would expect 3930 to run 12-14 vm's.

not 100% sure, just an educated guess.

ive been debating buying a 3930 myself to test with but havent made the leap yet. I think in the end you pretty much just save desk space as the cost will pretty much = performance gains.

My friend got it and we once ran 20 instances on it. Without VMs, of course, running mp1, but still a very nice accomplishment. No render disabler no nothing, pure 6 core Intel power :P I highly recommend that cpu with the LARGEST cooler your case can take. Oc it hard --> win.

I didn't wanted to start another thread, so maybe i'll try to ask here. I remember that you have got yourself top AMD CPU (FX-8350). How are your impressions in general? Do you regret buying it instead of i7? That picture, which you've posted before (in other thread) with OC'ed 8350 - it was 11 D3+DB instances on ~75-80% load, right? Have you tried to push it any further? Is it worth buying in your opinion, or maybe even 8150 since there isn't much difference?

8350 is a very nice cpu for multitasking. That picture is old as hell, this was 11 instances, dedicated pc stlye, mp1 single chars. It can probably run 12 like that, but no one actually farms like that nowadays. This was also before render disabler, so i really don't know. Got tired of these testes and didn't try it any more. But, yeah, the fx-8350 is a great CPU. I don't regret buying it, matter of fact, i recommend it to everyone who is on a tight budget. It is well worth its price.

The price of 8150 was similar, so i went for the 8350. I supposed if u are gonna OC it hard, it won't matter. But the 6 core Intels are just AWESOME. My buddy got one and it is a beast. Easily running 20 the same way i was running 11. It was like 60-70% CPU usage, so i reckon it can run even more.

If you add up the hardware of the 3930 vs 2x 3770's and compare 20x clients vs 24x clients you will see my original point.
