Demonbuddy Hardcore Edition (Dogmeat's Combat Book) MASTER Thread

Well, I'm running my barb right now with your files.
First impression - HoTA is used hell lot often than with regular Trinity. However, for some reason I'm getting around 10kk less exp/h than with Rrrix's version ;)
 
Yeah, I'm a HoTA barb from the beginning when nobody played HoTA, so of course my code would make HoTA top priority. Haha... And also Rend spams whenever you need your health back as well, strong as a bull, it's just hard to die even on purpose when you're correctly geared! :D
 
Current barb is just for fun - and maybe paragon levels if I get through bans till expansion is out :P
So, if only there was no drop in exp/h it would be flawless.

IMO barb is using HoTA a little bit too often what in result slows him down. But hell, what would I know ;)
 
Really enjoying the HoTA/WW, only thing I dislike is how it tends to avoid everything to such an extreme it dies which means I need to drop it down to MP7.
maybe I could get some suggestions of what you have your settings at for avoiding things... (I can easily do mp10 myself with the same build)
 
Yeah, I forgot to tweak the avoidance parameters for barb. Next version will fix this. You can give it a try with Trinity variables for barb as well you don't want to wait. It's in one of the settings files. :)
 
@Nazair: what the hell? The more HotA the better! Isn't your barb optimized for HotA? Gets lots of CD and CC, HoTA is the fastest and most destructive skill for barb already, on par with dread bomb, it must be fastest if you gear your toon correctly. Send me a d3up build snapshot, ASAP! :D
 
I adjusted the build slightly, to use the wider AOE with HoTA, and yea i found what i needed to do... i set the health % to avoid things at around 40% (everything was at 100%).... now it stands in it and just nukes and only runs when it needs to.

Might swap back to the harder hitting HoTA...

Also, any way to force it to use Wrath more often? It spends way to much time off CD for my liking =p.
 
Do you have enough fury? You meant you want to use wotb even on white trash? As soon as it is available?
 
Yea, because by the time it drops off due to not enough shit to kill, it's already off CD again to be used. Would boost IP/H and XP/H.
 
I'm not using WOTB at the moment ;)
Might sound quite crazy, but testing WW/HOTA/Rend with BR and WR. Works quite amazing so far :P

And I have Bul-Kathos set so I think fury is not big of a problem.
 
First of all, thnx to dogmeat for all this hard work.
I downloaded and installed everything as explained.
It works fine but my monk keep on dying, sometimes early on, sometimes a bit further like on level 13.
I'm continuing to try and level a hardcore character but I was wondering if somebody else is also having this problem and if maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Hey Dogmeat how are you doing, i must say i am impressed with the newest releases of your work.
I have been testing it on my monk and my barbarian.
Monk build used are:
Monk - Game Guide - Diablo III
Monk - Game Guide - Diablo III
Barb build used are
Barbarian - Game Guide - Diablo III
Barbarian - Game Guide - Diablo III
Barbarian - Game Guide - Diablo III
Added a twist to the 2nd and 3rd build where i added rend aswell to leech life from mobs.
The fluidity of all these specs is great, it runs so good without any problems and i love it.
Haven't been playing with my wizard and witch doctor for some time now but that's next on my list, really want to see that cm/ww wizard on high mps, also i will try the wd cloud of bats for sure.
Probably some minor tweaks could be done to improve the mechanics even more. Keep it up man its great to see some fresh blood doing great stuff for the community.

@Meansteel: From 1-60 you gotta re-equip your bot every 3-5 levels. Especially at level 15 with gems, and from lv42 with reduced level requirement gear. Also, to be safe, bot mp0 from 1-60, not MP10 (like me). No amount of coding would make your bot stays alive all the way from 1-60 if you're always afk.

Lv13 is the Northern Highlands, which is a very hard part of the game, usually I work go back a few quests then level up to 15, socket my bot with gems before continuing to proceed.

Hey dogmeat, I'm glad you're spending your time working on this. However I had an issue relating to the auto skilled plugin, I started out with a wizard and when it hit level 2 it never equipped the 'Ray of Frost' skill successfully. I assume the bot was still trying to use the skill though, because every 20 seconds or so I would get a disconnect error and be dropped from the game.

I restarted my game, and equipped the 'Ray of Frost' skill manually and it went on using the skill just fine. Once I hit level 4 it equipped 'Frost Nova' just fine, and I'm not getting disconnected anymore. Do you know if this was related to your plugin?

Thnx a lot dogmeat for the quick reply, I will try your recommendations and will post back with my findings.
I always level on MP0 but I didn't know I had to re-equip manually every few levels. I'm thinking this will go smoothly as I babysit my little bottie now :)

Ya welcome, Meansteel. Thanks to your feedback, I've modified the itemscoring of AutoEquipper to absolutely favor maximum survivability and ls, so from next version on, if you afk and didn't equipped your toon with new gear, it will automatically equip looted drops that provide maximum eHP and ls. :)
 
For the Barb HC builds in this thread what gear would you recommend? 1h shield or 2h schafers.
 
hey, dogmeat. Do you know much about Hota - Birthright, would you think it's worth using if i am purely going for IPH.

ATM I am using Rolling thunder just to clear packs faster, but with max fury, hota is over 100% crit for me.

Birthright = not worth it, more dmg = faster kills = more IPH
Rolling Thunder = best for low mp or when you have insane damage, it's AoE area is much bigger so if you can 1 hit mobs, it's just crazy just like Seismic Slams on MP1.
