I consider myself a veteran player seeing as I've been playing since final beta (not bragging, just adding to my observation) and during classic there were on occasion epic world drops that would make the period of grinding just that much sweeter.

What I'm wondering is; are there any epic item world drop (aside from mounts and pets) in the WotLK expansion? I've not seen a single epic drop and crates and bags that can be found around Northrend are quite the anti-climactic experience since they NEVER contain anything good.

Where have all the world drops gone? Why is the game so incredibly watered out?

Yes, there are a few WOTLK epic drops from normal mobs. I looted some epic plate shoulders (item 200) in Storm Peaks while botting and sold them for 3k on the AH. (When item level 200 was decent).

Ah. I must have bad luck then. Haven't seen a single epic world item drop. :)

I believe that's the only level 80 piece I've ever looted also.

I've never seen an epic world drop, in all the time I've played, personally.

I recall during classic getting the 'Hammer Of The Northern Wind' drop in the Plaguelands. Sexy little beast, that was.

yeah in classic wow epics were rare but at the same time not. I've only gotten 3 epic world drops in my 4 years of playing (none from Wotlk)

I got the lvl 80 caster ring and also the "monkey in a ball" trinktes while lvling
