How do mass bans work?

Can someone please explain to me how mass bans work. You could maybe sticky this thread and people submit their theories or facts.

Warden starts detecting your exploit/hack/cheat/bot, and then at a certain date, all of it gets banned at the same time.

Pretty sure that is a mass ban.

any idea what the chances of getting unbanned are and any idea on how long it usually takes for them to do this?. What was the last massban caused by?

If you get BANNED its usually permanent, If you get suspended then could be as long as 72 hours. It really depends on the offense. Botting usually = Permanent ban if caught. As far as chances depends how much you bot and your location, don't be in high populated areas. High populated higher risk.

Any idea what blizard are like if you call them and whinge? and deny it ? I cant really think of any excuses but like I know on aion a fair few got unbanned for whinging and denying.

Well if you get banned for botting, chances of getting unbanned is pretty small. Plus as the last thing you want to do is have Blizzard further their investigation on your account, you know you done wrong and you got caught, crying about getting banned for botting when you know it is against their Terms of Service is just like idk, but if you want to do something like that and have blizzard further investigate your account be my guest. I rather just be banned for botting then start over then cry to blizzard about it then get my battle.net account on their watch list. That's just my opinion.

What was teh last hbuddy ban over? im just curious as im doing research into it as I intend to compile everything into a 'guide' along with some other stuff so other users know in the future. And even if bliz did further investigate what would they even look into? surely theres a gm who has leaked info and stuff. 1. When blizzard bans you the ban only the offensive account now your whole battle.net account.
2. Doesn't matter if you create a new battle.net account sense your accounts will still be in the same name as the banned account
3. Not sure if blizzard has a watch list for potential botters / gold sells / gold buyers but i'm sure they have something like that.

I imagine they do have a watch list also. As for the bnet account only the offending account is banned seems a little stupid in my opinion as theyre clearly a botter.

Yeah but that is how blizzard does it I got banned on 2 diff accounts on the same battle.net and I still use it for my third account, and botting on it too lol, been botting on it for like 30 days now, leveled it with HB from 1-80, once I hit 80 I used HB to get it full Furious / Warthfull gear, now I using GB to make gold.

I disagree.A lot of bans are from player reports. I was banned and in under 2 hours I was unbanned. all it took was a 2 minute conversation on the phone. Getting unbanned in a ban wave is a little less likely, but I would still try to get it recovered.

Me - "I was playing the game for about an hour, logged off for about two hours got back on and couldn't login. I waited about 10 minutes and tried again. Again it didn't work, but a message came up saying my account had been closed. I'm not sure why or how it was closed. I received an e-mail about 20 minutes later saying it was due to a unauthorized program. I can assure you that there isn't an unauthorized program on my computer"
Blizz "Okay, we will look into this problem for you. You will receive an e-mail explaining the course that will be taken on your account."
Me- "Okay, thanks"
Blizz "Anything else we can assist you with today?"
Me - "Nope thats all, thanks"
Blizz " Okay, Have a wonderful day"


It pretty much went exactly like that. I did homework for 2 hours and came back with a new e-mail saying they restored it.

I disagree, too. I got... well, about 200+ accounts banned for the last 3 years, and from my personal experiences, the chance for getting an un-banned is pretty slim. In number, it's 2 out of 70+ times that I send them back an "OMG-I-were-hacked" nonsense emails. In some cases, it became much worse: Blizzard banned the the rest of my accounts with no reason at all, just to show me that they're really pissed off with my nonsense. Other than that, they would just answering that they already re-investigated my case and found out that their decisions are just . Eventually, I gave up, and never bother to send them emails again.

There is a professional un-ban service in Mmowned, and from my observation, the success chance is not much higher than my chance. Well, maybe you're just much luckier than the rest of us.

So was it like a rogue gm or something unbanning before or what?. I personally cant see how they can justify banning someone because a couple of people said they were botting.

Im not overly worried about that im just trying to get as much info as possible and simply wanting to know how mass bans work.
