Tankleader 2 is running like a charm on 0.8.6

TL2 is runnig like a charm for me. I am working on profiles for all the maps and it reads the profiles perfectly. The only time the bot can/will crash is if I am doing some settings tweaking while the game is running. I make this post to help and explain what I do since it is working as I want it to do.

First of all i want the game setting set to a windowed low resolution, and I use 1280x960, and I have ALL graphic settings to the lowest do maximize the FPS, the bot doesn't care about pretty landscape. AT NO POINT in the process do I minimize the game, never.

This is my preferrred startup:
1 Start the bot without the game, Set log to "Normal" (default is "Diagnostic") then close the bot.
2 Start game but don't log in. (sometimes it crashes if I start the bot while in garage, so i start it at the login screen.)
3 Start the bot.
4 Login to the game and add tanks to bot from garage.
5 Start botting.

DO NOT modify any settings at this point. IF you want to change/tweeak settings while or before you start botting, I ALWAYS close the bot and game after tweaking and go from point 2-5 as mentioned above.

Another thing: If you experience a crash and close the bot with task manger, be sure to also look in task manger at "prosesses" that are running and stop all the TL2 prosesses you see there as there will be several (1 for each crash). I was not aware of this but experienced a slow PC with 100% CPU usage so I investigated and found 7 TL2 prosesses running.

Everything above is done as Administrator which means rightclick the game and chose "Run as administrator", rightclick the bot and chose "Run as administrator".

The bot will not crash if you get the to the point where you are happily bottting unless you are still tweaking while it plays. If you want to tweak: press stop on the bot, do your tweaking and then CLOSE both the bot and the game and start from point 2 above.

The complaints about the bot's stupidity is meaningless, It is not smarter than you, it will NOT play better than you unless you really play bad. What it will do is play forever without gettting tired or frustrated, it will do silly suicide runs sometimes because it will not wait for your teamates to come. It will then just get a new tank fromt he garge and keep going without raging
And please it is a beta, it will only get better as they get all the coding done, but that is a slow process so give them time.

And as I said in the beginning, I am working on profiles from scratch and will happily share them later on if they are wanted, but you do NOT need profiles for it to run. The profiles only makes it take preferred routes on the map.

if u refering 2 my topic about suicide i dont care if bot run in fron of my team i know how bot play but common in TL1 routs ware WAY better i complain about pure suicide when bot go in worst posible place on map just 2 die ??!! i know it is running smooth as a program it is way better as a program but its stupid as hell compare 2 TL1 and last time i look TL1 is still for 8.5 and NO COLISION DETECTION !!! u cant say its becouse its beta colision detection is a BIIIIIIG isue here and there is meny more stuff that was better in TL1 for example i still like 2 choose how my bot will target by distance by helth and others artylery shooting is crap compare 2 what im use 2 in TL1 and meny more isnt goot enough compare 2 previouse one

Good solution is make routes for Bot, other "behavior" comes better when Beta "grow_up" but even now "suizide" can go away with ... magic.

Put only one "Class" tank on "Queque" and pick good routes for it... (I do that way and it looks good)

We're working on including default profiles from the community much like with HB and DB for TankLeader as well. Once we have those and we have actual routes that make sense you'll see the bot runs a lot smoother. Try downloading some of the profiles others have already made and see if you like it any better.

Im doing third set of Routes first 24 maps... maybe need make good collection for ya... just Look IIIZMIII thread.

(When we got more "things" to Profile writing then they became better but just now they are simple batch)

if u think i need and want somthink that IIIZMIII proposed then u r a bit week in understending others i just need bot wich is at least as good as TL1 was, couse doing next generation of program without key functions from previous version is crap... its like windows9 will be without graphic interface. and btw if some users creat profiles its cool but im not paying that user for product , im paying my money 2 TL developers so why i must w8 for community 2 creat profiles befour ill get a full working product ?? ands i get that idea of extra profiles is good but common a initial program shoul be fully capable of doing its job just like TL1 was .. and ffs COLISION DETECTION is not part of created profiles.

Happy to hear U like it, I spend several hours to test new Routes and Creating them so any one can use them.

Avoiding dead tanks i s out of my grasp at this point and we soon see better "collision detection" on it, but this is still inspirating, .

Well hopefully TL2Beta get soon official "routes" for all to share so users can stope wasting their time to create them.... or is that what YOU want, oh really not know.

tried all of that but tl2 just isnt working for me
it just freezes and nothing happens
Tanks in garage just stays there and only way i can close tl2 is taskmanager
cant use tl1 as it crashes WOT instantly after 086

Tl1 worked fine in 085 as long as i rebooted pc so it ran all night on a clean reboot.
running it without reboot and it often crashed during the night


i tried all the things and suggestions here but tl2 isnt working for me

well good for YOU that its running fine on your machine but theres a shit load of other machines its not running on so its definatly not stable coding or we wouldnt have all these ppl here with problems

i surely hope theres a new working version out soon cause this really sucks
esp since it isnt free software

I helped a friend today gettting it to work. He has lots of them same, freezing bot crashing wot etc.
First off he didn't have .Net installed. so he installed .net 4.5; This did not work with the garage (adding to que didnt work). So i told him to uninstall 4.5 and install .net4 and that made the garage/queing work. Then everything seemed to work and he asked if he had to change all the tanks over to default tank targeting since they were by default set to artillery. I realized he was using the .81 build that Aevitas has linked, so i gave him the newer .88 build since it should be better I thought.
However the .88 build didn't work for him at all, but the .81 does.
So now he has .Net 4.0 on Win Vista with the .081 build and it is working. I personallly have no clue why and what the difference is between the 2 builds. He is happy tho

Put message in Support -Forum and try contact with Aevitas, they are looking solutions and try find what cause that "problems"... but think "bright side", when U get it work, then there is lots tested stuff for use...

Sad, but I got "Wot Client" -crashes, just hand play, then it Crash and no way back, God dammit I will Bot NOW.

Try this. I used it to repair my "VMware machine" NET4.5 to NET4.0, three reStart and it started work.

remove:
- microsoft .net framework 4 client profile
- microsoft .net framework 4 extended
- microsoft visual c++ 2010 x86 redistributable

restart your pc,
download the installationwizard from here
run it as administrator.
after the wizard is done, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++
restart

Just make sure that you remove all "stuff" what "Tony" says, installer is just Nice. (forgot to say, I run that "installationWizard" two times... before TL2Beta started work?)
