How is Gatherbuddys new feature working

So the new feature is randomizing the hotspots, so the bot doesn't hit the exact coordinates over and over. But is it automatically implemented ? Do we need to add something to our profiles ?

Maybe some further information on the exact process would be appreciated. But I am very happy gatherbuddy gets some love, I feel it's the most important of the botbases (at least for me) and really should be improved even more. Better Landing on nodes (does it need to fly around it sometimes when it can just dismount and run 1m :) ?) and of course the old topic of the unstucking process etc.

If you activate randomize Hotpots, it will randomize your hotspots by 5-20y in any direction, like it did before, since Uldum.

Now, if you add a number, this is a multiplier, which means it will go 10-40, 15-60 and so on.

That's all. Nothing to add in your profile. (Hotpsots that arent closer together thean the randomize number would be useful.)

Hi, Ludijak559,

GB2 does not "shuffle the order waypoints are visited". The randomization built into GB2 is to add a changing offset to each waypoint every time the waypoint is visited. This offset is 5-20 yards in any direction in the horizontal plane.

The most recent GB2 allows you to scale this randomized value. With a scale of '2', the 5-20 yards is now 10-40. With 3, it is 15-60, and so forth.

You can get very creative with the scale and the number of waypoints to visit. In short, we believe appropriate choices for these values will also defeat LCP-detection (if indeed that is the algorithm using on the WoWserver).

and when you have problem that its resetet cause its bug by setting the value

Hi, Boomer_rich and Ginuwine12,

This is a known bug, and I believe its already been repaired for the next drop.

As a work-around, you might try
  • Close Honorbuddy
  • Hunt down the appropriate settings file, and edit it to your desire
  • Relaunch Honorbuddy
I have not checked out this procedure personally, its just an idea. If it doesn't work, you'll just have to grin and bear it until the next drop. We're still in "Test" releases, so there is another coming (but don't know how soon). We're still trying to address other known bugs before the next drop.

cheers,

Thanks that was my initial problem why I opened the thread and thought I need to add something to my profiles, changing the setting file helped.

The new feature would be nice if it actually worked.
As it is now it never saves the settings.
It always goes back to zero.
Even if you edit the settings file is still goes back to zero.

The problem most be in your config/hb. I have many pc/hb and all work good.

Work around for the bug is posted a few posts prior to yours.

On a side note. It does seem to be working very well from what I've seen. Very random now and IMO looks more player like. Except...I do notice it likes do the the "node dance" a bit more often now since it's now going after nodes you may not have had in your profile pathing prior and/or from the angles it's approaching them.

I had used it for a week (intervals of 1.5-2 hours) and was perm banned

if you're referring to the 'randomize hotspots' under bot config
