After reading through the ban reports.. it seems as though if you have;

  • Created a new account | highly viewed as a future gold seller/farmer.
  • Posted more then 20-30 Auctions per day.
  • Used a pre-made profile over and over | A glitched profile that constantly gets stuck | A profile that ninja's others materials.
  • Used a class/spec that doesn't act like normal player.
  • Sold WoW Gold.
  • Boted on a highly populated server.

You might be banned.

After reading an article on OwnedCore.. of an interview with a GM.. it seems as though you will MAY be banned while using Honor Buddy(Griding/Questing/PvPing) is if a player reports you. The whole thing goes like this

Player A sees player B boting.. so player A reports player B. A GM then teleports to player B to confirm the boting.. (the GM might do some tests to see if you are boting.. such as disconnecting you.. or glitch the game and see how you react to the problem). You will probably get a temp ban if you're leveling and possibly a perm ban if you're gold selling/farming.

From a business standpoint this is wildly inefficient. I have a hard time believing player reports are a requirement for bans.

What you read on ownedcore/reddit was a GM/QA who didn't work for blizzard in the past couple of months. Before and at the start of mop it was definitely the case that reports seemed to be the main threat. The last couple of months showed that blizzard has different ways they CAN use if they WANT to. A month ago I was banned after only a few hours days of gathering, now it seems the threat has decreased. But for how long ? When will blizzard strike again ?

The gm was either retarted or still working for blizzard when he wrote :

All gold ingame is coming from hackers people don't realize this that there are no chinese goldfarmers or botters that make gold and sell it to you they're all hackers.

That's 100% bullshit most of the gold ingame isn't being hacked there's far too much demand.

Basically the rest he says in detection methods etc are all bullshit simply becouse anyone who works/has worked for blizzard you shoulden't be taking information from on how they detect you.

@Zoinx. I just joined this community.. what a nice welcome. Thank you. This thread was purely made for those are thinking about botting and telling them how they might be banned.

usually those "other" ways are what end up banning ppl by accident (such as transferring mats between accounts and ppl getting banned for messing w/ the economy) WTF? I call that an inneficient business model. The other seems much more efficient and accurate. how many ban reports do you think they get a day? I mean the number is probably not tiny, but relative im sure it is.

Why would you listen to a exgm that talks like he's still working for blizzard the things he sayd are 100% bullshit when he talks about anything related to botting or goldselling.

Besides that goldselling etc might flag you for a ban and botting aswell we all know that there's a risk involved in botting etc.

Are you referring to the post that was made back in 05/05/2008?

I just don't understand why you post the most blatantly obvious information? How else do you think you're banned?

"A GM gets your address from your battle.net account then flys to your house. They call back to Blizzard HQ and when they confirm you are online playing, they have a conference call with the NSA to confirm the room you are in, in that house. They then sneak into the home and into said room to confirm you are infact playing by hand. To make sure you are a real human and not a bot, they do tests, such as telling you to take out the trash. A real response should be "I'LL DO IT IN A LITTLE BIT MOM, I'M BUSY!!!". Any other reply requires further human conformation, such as the Mountain Dew test, where a glass of Mountain Dew is placed by your side to see if you partake in the beverage."

Of course this can all be thwarted by posting a fact address.
