Anyone using any of the FX series chips? I bought the 8350 and I paired it with the h110 cooler. I don't think the paste has totally settled yet but I'm getting idle temps of 35-37 degrees Celsius. (The computer had only been running for about 7 hours since assembly)

Is that a normal temp for this chip series? Are you guys getting these kind of temps? How long does it take for paste to usually settle?

Thanks,
Ryan

I think it is normal (or even very good) temp. AMD cores has more TDP then Intel, And I had 35+ on my i7-3770k (before OC, now - 45+)
As for paste, I think you can check it once in 6 months

I got AMD phenom II X4 B55 unlocked and OC to 3.6 GHz. idle temp is depending much on the room temp. at the moment somewhere around 30 - 35 degrees Celsius. On full use its max 50 degrees celsius.

Have AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition with Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 Pro. Was running 5 bots with temperature of around 53* C after few days of load.
Also have AMD FX-8120 with 2x Enermax coolers, manualy controlled by software, i think i had around 1300 rpm's on both coolers and was running 6-8 bots with temeperature of around 54* C after few days of load.

You should be fine.

My FX8350 runs with 49?C on full load and something around 28-30?C on idle. That is with a Scythe Mugen 3 attached and with ~23?C room temperature.

Your numbers are fine. Just don't overclock to that extend that you run you machine with constantly >72?C or something. That might wear off your CPU too fast.

same here. Right now it is OCed to 4.5 and stays around 50 at full load.

yeah it depends on you room temperature a lot, but these teps just don't seem right to me... my 8350 cooled by air (hyper 412 with 2 fans) and idle temps are like less than 10C...

Not when you OC it, it will get around 30C idle.

u got all C6 state, energy saver etc. options enabled in bios, thats why u are sitting at 10C idle.

You should have gone with like a Noctua or 412, half the price, quieter and just as good cooling.

Just to make sure you didnt put paste on did you? The stuff on 110 is specifically applied and any other paste wont beat it.

Burn in time should be anything up to 7 days use.

10?C ? Either your sensors are broken or you're sitting in a cold cold room there :D (It's not possible for a fan-powered cooler to cool you device below room temperature... )

well I came home from work after 4 days and with 5 d3's and 5 db's running im at 43C

Before I left I was at 47C. I dont know what kinda load that is because coretemp doesnt work with the new FX chips. We'll it does, but not like it should

I still thought it was gonna be lower with a water cooler though

I have the 8350 overclocked to 4.8GHz paired with the H110 and in CoreTemp with the offset set to 0 here are my temps.

Ambient: 25c
Idle: 20c
Load (Prime95): 45c

I also have 7 fans, including the ones on the H110.

Edit:
Are you using the pre-applied paste or did you clean it and use your own?

In the end it doesn't matter though. With those temperatures I'd not bother to even open the case again :D
