Thinking about investing a good amount into botting. Lots of questions however.

Alright, so finally my first got bot banned after 1 month of use. I deserved the ban though, I was literally running almost 24/7. Anyways, I averaged around 10-20k gold per day. I have a way to convert around 100k to $45. So I made about 450k by the end of the month with 1 bot. And to be, I see this being very profitable.

However, here are my concerns.

1. Price of resources to gather never seem dependable. I remember late cata, I could barely keep up selling what my bot what would, and that was around 50 gold a stack. This last time on mop, I was selling 70g a stack, an could sell 200+ stacks in 1 day no problem.
2. Blizzard tracking my IP, and banning all accounts related to it. I opened a ticket asking about this, they claimed they do not ban accounts by IP. However I've heard stories where people have had multiple bots banned at the same time.


I lost quite a lot with my bot, because I was an idiot. Not only did I lose around 700k total, but it was the CE edition, and I also got scammed for 350k gold by a random buyer. I knew what I got into however, and the only thing not keeping me upset, is seeing the profit potiential though. However even though the numbers add up, I'm sure there's a lot more to it.

Anyways now that you know my concerns, I also have some questions I'm hoping some of you can answer.

1. Assuming blizz does ban by IP, does this mean by your hardware ID too? Meaning do they use both of these to track?
2. Say if I have 10x bots running on one pc, is there a way to mask the Mac and IP? Also isn't it true that can be useless if using ***'s, since blizzard now bans most of those, so I hear.


Lastly, are there any good deals out there atm to get a full upgrade to MOP? Also is it smart to use the RAF bonus, or is that just another way for blizzard to track all your bots? Ty!

Dont quit your day job. And be prepared to lose a ton of money quickly, it's a volatile market. One banwave and you're out of action for a few weeks.And in the current state it's very hard to make any cash.

Just to let you know you got banned on 1 account for the future they will watch your accounts so you're already into problems if you start botting again on new accounts that's why they say after you get a perm ban ''future accounts will be watched''.

I've read before they dont touch other accounts being used on the same IP 'IF' they are not involved in botting etc.

Blizzard doesn't ban by IPs, that's just a persistent (and really REALLY retarded) conspiracy theory. Hell they don't even ban by battlenet accounts - you can have wow1 wow2 wow3 etc banned for botting and wow5 will still work just fine.

They do ban for using gatherbuddy though and there is nothing you can do about it. you can't make 10K/day from a single bot anymore without getting banned within a few weeks at the most (often just after a few days)

From my experience, a ban could hit you anytime and most likely on all of your accounts at the same time. This is usually done by a manual GM investigation and it's really difficult to overturn this kind of bans. I really don't know what they do to link accounts together since I've heard stories of people running 3-4 computers with V P N and P R O X I E S on all of them but the whole bunch of accounts still get hit. I really have no idea of what links them together.

Hey dude would just like to say dont go blowing loads of money to start mass botting, instead start with a nice rig and maybe bot on 4 toons see how it goes an if it does say go great well then expand slowy.

With marketing I can make around $9 per 20k. So atm, I know how to do some trades to make decent money gold selling.

Sadly everything I fear you guys have said. As far as investment goes, I'll start with 5 bots. From there, only use money I make from profit. I'll definitely to work on my times. See if it's worth actually botting only 7-12 hours per day, rather than 24/7 even if monitored most of time. As long as each of my characters make it for a month, I'll make a decent amount of profit. The big thing is.. is how they connect, I'll definitely need to do more research. Like I said, deciding whether it's worth doing RAF, or if that's just going to make it easier for all the accounts to be linked/banned.

With all this said, I wish honorbuddy worked on an eve bot. That game you can literally pay for ingame, by botting. Sadly no companies are as sophisticated as HB.

You need to write on the official forums about that dupe to get it fixed, otherwise any amount of time you put into the game is wasted, since gold stays worthless.

Not to go off topic here, but in EVE they openly IP and HWID ban RMTers on a significant scale and botting 24/7 has been unsustainable for almost a year now (mostly running 12h/day now). It's also a much smaller market, so harder to find reliable buyers, especially for large amounts.

On the bright side, though, it's extremely easy to develop bots for it.

As for WoW, I was in your shoes when the mid-April banwave started and ultimately decided to postpone any expansion since WoW just seems too much effort for too little profit at the moment. Sadly, that statement largely applies to most other online games right now too.

how does this assure you so well that they ban by IP? what it tells me is that he was "big" by his own admission and the larger you are the more attention you draw to yourself. the more you influence the economy, the more you get reported... and they aren't stupid. this all adds up. What it looks like to me is they built a case, they watched and waited. Each account was linked to the other whether it be by a trade here, a waypoint track there, a mail on this one.. and once they were certain they were all being botted on... He bit it. Lets hope, he made more than he lost prior to the toons going down. The fact that he HAD 40 accounts to lose leaves me feeling pretty confident he did. Really who wants to try to go that big at this point in the game? Im considering growing a bit gold selling but you gotta realize as I did... We are late to the game. The price of gold is nothing like it used to be.. more and more players are leaving, and more and moer people selling. It wont be around too much longer relative to the good ole days. They can also link accounts by things like email addresses or payment details, even the name/address on the account. So far nothing has led me to believe they ban by IP. Especially considering most ISP's issue dynamic IP addresses these days.

that's your fault for selling that cheap imo. Look at prices, theyre stable and actually higher than they have been in quite some time. I haven't sold lower than .50/1k yet.
