Did anyone tried this with any success (as in not get banned).

Also what does the Pathing type circle/bounce means exactly.

Isn't this GB2 option enough to fool blizzard detection methods?

You can find the answer to many of your questions in the Honorbuddy manual:

Nobody knows yet. The detection is obviously server-side, and we don't know what algorithms they are using to perform the detection (although we have some ideas).

circle: Goes from waypoint to waypoint and at the end, starts over from the top.
bounce: same as above but at the end, goes the route backwards.

For random stuff, there was a post by codename which said that it will only randomize the first hotspot than moves the list sequentially, but somehow there are Wiki Entries which say different: Honorbuddy Profile Tag: RandomizeHotspots - Buddy Wiki

Tried it one time with randomize hotspots, my bot flew then against ground or very beneath to the ground. didn't work for me.

Hi, Buzzerbeater!

Just to clear up the confusion...
That Wiki entry is talking about the Questing profile grammar. The Gatherbuddy2 grammar does not use that XML element. (There is a little table at the bottom that indicates which bots to which that XML element applies.)

Oh, I see, my bad.

So as it stands the Randomize Hotspots Tag for GB2 only selects a different Starting Point?

Any plans to add more "randomness" options for gatherbuddy2?
The randomize option is kinda vague.

Hi, Kavlantis,

I can't answer this. GB2 is not my purview, and I don't know if its planned for update or not.

Can you comment on this??
See page 20...

Thanks TreeK. My problem with page 20, is that I could've sworn I saw a post somewhere by Raphus that indicated "Randomize Hotspots" meant "add a small delta to each hotspot in the profile". I have been unable to locate that post so far, and I could be dreaming. If Raphus did make that post, then he would be the authority since he wrote GB2--and, we'll need to get the manual cleaned.

I haven't used GB2 myself for a *very* long time--so can't verify from personal experience. All my accounts are tied up in Quest Behavior writing and fixing. :D

I've asked using the only resource I have, and nobody has responded. I believe they are all "heads down" at the moment trying to clean things up, and possibly getting ready for the 5.3 drop. Its gotten *very* quiet the past couple of days, and hard to get answers.

cheers and sorry I couldn't be of more help,
chinajade

[EDIT 18May2013 by chinajade]: Raphus responded to my query. This was his reponse:
"randomize hotspots option picks a point rand(5,20) yard distance and rand(0,360) angle around"

Obviously, the Honorbuddy manual will be need updated.

Thanks for the clarification CJ, that was not how I thought it worked. I guess the 5-20 yard range was small enough that to my eye it looked as if it was still hitting all my waypoints spot on. Sure would be nice to have a tag added that would allow user customization of the distance... :) Unless of course some extra special GB2 sauce is already being cooked up.

Yes the above answers are correct, randomize hotspot seems to randomize the hotspot location with some variance. That variance though would not beat LCP, if you read the article about LCP and have some math background and understanding, you will see that despite not hitting the exact X,Y,Z location, the proximity of hotspot, then tracked across sequences of variance of numerous hotspots, that hitting close the same places over and over in a sequence will eventually be detected, causing your LCP threshold to climb, eventually it will hit a trigger or tripwire and flag your account or autoban etc, whatever Blizz is doing.

This is of course if you believe they are utilizing LCP. It is the ghost I believe in however. And counter-measures are preventative anyhow. You use counter-measures against reasonable threats in lieu of definite proof for maximum security.

To beat LCP entirely, you need to truly randomize your routes. Follow a route = trigger LCP. Randomly fly from one place to another, sweeping a zone and gathering anything you happen to come across = no-trigger LCP. Less efficient for sure than a really good planned route. But getting banned or not botting at all is truly inefficient no?

My method is to never run routes anymore when using GB2. I randomize (using my Hotspot Randomizer App) every route, run it until it has completed, then re-randomize all my spots again. So I am zone sweeping, not route running.

Of course maybe I am wearing a tinfoil hat too and Blizzard is not using LCP as part of their detection. I prefer to be pro-active and not take the chance they are. They do not ban in China for botting unless it is player reports, even then, rarely, but there may come the day that they start, and I do not plan to get caught in the first ban-wave to hit China.

Good luck with all your efforts! Long live the Bot-Nation!

Been using bounce and random on my main account since I have no others left and I dont really care anymore, and ive probably done 3 x 16 hour days and have so much freaking ore its coming out my ass, I must have 2000 stacks of the shit and no ban yet. and im going to keep running it for 16 hours a day and il report back.

if hotspot randomization is meant like this:

each and every hotspot is changed every time you target it a little (5-10 yards to north or south, 5-10 yards to east or west, 5-10 yards up and down)

than it doesn't help anything. i used ezbot on a few banned toons. which has a 100% more effective gathering module. you can randomize the hotspots easy in the bot setup there. and i still got banned.
