The quality of the CC has nothing to do with the quality of HB.

I don't agree. Some CC makers are also devs for HB, so in my opinion, one does have to do with the other. However, and in your favor, I think the reputation of the individual would go a long way to convincing me, as would the feedback received from the CC. My only concern really is long-term development, and not having someone try to make a CC for a quick cash grab.

The only CC makers that are also [official] HB developers are Nesox and Apoc. And, in my opinion, both are fantastic CC developers.

I voted NO. Ive never had an issue with any of the CCs here that are public. Ive only used about half the classes, but all of them work pretty damn well. Shit, about every one of them play better than I do manually.

-edit-

If this were a pay for profile poll, my vote would have been different. If CCs cost, then HB would need to improve the default CCs as they should be a main part of the bot.

I say keep the CC free. It would prevent from us having an outbreak of every single person wanting to receive money for their work.

However, charge for support. If someone would like any changes, or need to be spoon fed their way through your product, make it cost a little for the support.

heres the thing, RedHat Linux. they dont sell the product, what the sell and make money on is the support. its the support at this point that most of us have an issue with, some with not getting it, and some with not wanting to deal with it. so maybe just charging for "pro level" support. would work.

Solid thought. I was also thinking of a "provide the CC free of charge, in sort of a "limited mode" but enabling high-end features such as instance/RAF support, etc". Don't quote me on THOSE features, purely an example.

Payed for the bot already, and wouldn't buying a CC be to easy?
1 Person pays, then spreads DL Links to everyone?
Seems like a waste of time and effort into something that is already implimented into bot, and for the dev of other CCs they've been kind enough to share theirs. So why not keep it free so everyone can be happy, I mean people do donate to the devs but that's of their own free will.

I think paying for support for dumb questions would be a great way to make money.

dam... barely breaking even from my first day of botting like a year ago now CC's are gonna be charged..

I voted no.

I barely purchased the bot and only because I played with glider before when I started getting bored with wow before BC was released. One of the reason I like this bot was because of the CC's Plugins, and profiles that are free. This is really just a pasttime that I am not interested in throwing money at. If HB disappeared tonight I would just say "oh darn" and cancel my WoW accounts until Cata was released. HB and the various addition just make WoW a bit intriging until the next expansion.

I created a similar topic right before HB2 came out. It was not only shot down by the community, but by the admins.

Perhaps we should introduce some kind of live-support?
We could search for people that have some knowledge about CCs/Honor and Gatherbuddy/Profiles etc. So the people could ask their questions to the live support and the CC developers just stop to answer questions. These questions that can be read in the FAQ can be easily answered by the supporters and if it's some harder question they just ask the CC devekopers.
This would make live easier for those who already do good things for this community (like fpsware) because they would have to answer less questions. Also the effort for the supporters shouldn't be that great if they are enough.
I think there are lots of people here with enough knowledge to answer 90% of the questions.

I second the idea for Pay-4-Support. Now I can stop trying to answer peoples questions in chat. Im just gunna post my paypal with a statement that I will not reply to your questions until money has been accepted and cleared.

And that is what I have the issue with, people don't want to read (even 2 posts up) to find a solution to their problem, they want you to hand it to them! All the common answers are in the first post or the FAQ (2nd post) yet people rarely read it. THAT is what pisses me off.

That's true but you also know even when the information/help is given to them directly some will still say HUH? and if they pay they would turn nasty and go on and on about scams, this never worked, it wouldn't do this etc.

I would pay you 5 ta 10 for a profile. not so much for the profile but more for the unlimited support. im not new to botting. and im starting to get a fairly firm grasp about running the bot. (having a few issues but i havent exausted all my attempts before i bug anyone here with it...lol) I havent started creating profiles yet. But that is mostly due to time. And i would be interested in someone that is entirely knowledgable. that would be willing to msn with me and answer all my questions. maybe teamview with me to figure out what mistakes i may be making. anyway. food for thought.

I dont't think you can get this for paying 10$ once... if the CC developer does this for everyone he's got a fulltime job
Thtas why i would prefer some kind of usermade livesupport....but users won't be entirely knowledgable

I voted no for two reasons.

1 - As already mentioned above, the ability NOT to test the CC beforehand. There would definitely be a lot of crap CC's around.
2 - Long run support. What happens if the developer of a specific CC i have paid for, just vanishes? If i pay, i want support and constant updates. I have seen already in the free ones, that a lot of CC just get 1 or 2 updates and then they are dead. Yes, maybe the solution here is to be paid, so the developer is interested in updating it, because he is getting paid for it. But still, what if he just vanishes or people ask money for every crap CC/Plug-IN/Profile out there? Would kill the community and the bot.

People would pay 25/80? for the bot (Which isnt cheap, but a reasonable price) and just have out-dated profiles or the 1-10 profiles. The very basic CC which dont work all that good in PvP and the list goes on . . .

But!
I would pay for a CC that the developer stays around for the long run, the price is FAIR, updates it often, LISTEN to the supporters, implement new features without asking for more, etc . . .
