Bot standing still when attacked. (Update)

[Update]
I made my bot run pretty much all day, farmed Timbermaw rep as well as the Dampscale eyes and I added the MountHelper plug-in you talked about. I don't know if it's luck but he definitly seems to stop hanging when something not supposed to attacks him. So far 400 kills for the eyes and he hasn't gotten stuck once and hasn't stopped from being attacked. Will test a bit more to make sure the profile is right then I should make a release on the forums.
[Update]

Hi, I just wanted to know if there is a way I can stop my bot from standing still while he's traveling.

For exemple, I'm curently creating a profile to farm Dampscale Eyes and when my toon is moving in a direction and he gets attacked by a mob on the kill or blacklist (it doesn't matter), he will very likely stop and stay there until he dies.
I searched on the forum a bit but didn't find any answer. I also checked the new version in the fix to see if it was in the log but it doesn't look like it's been fixed.

Any way to correct this?

Thanks

From the details you've provided, it hard to tell what could be going wrong.
Here's a few things to try:

* Is the bot downloading meshes when this happens?
Click to the "Navigation Log" tab when the bot starts standing still. Wait a few minutes and see if a new mesh arrives. If this is your problem, there's nothing you can do. The problem will fix itself when you've acquired all the meshes. Overall, there are 600MB of meshes to download, with each continent--Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outland, and Northrend--representing roughly 150MBs.

All of the meshes don't download at once. You usually get 8-16 mesh files at 200KB each in a 'batch'. This gets you through the surrounding area for which you don't have updated meshes. You may re-download meshes you already had, as meshes are apparently updated periodically.

* A large percentage of problems like this are 'plugin' problems...
The first thing I'd suspect is a broken plugin. Try moving your <HB_install_dir>/Plugins directory to <HB_install_dir>/Plugins-tmpcheck, then restart Honorbuddy. If your problem goes away, create an "empty" Plugins directory, and start putting your Plugins back one-at-a-time. You'll need to restart Honorbuddy each time you put a Plugin back--its a pain, I know but the best thing to do if you want your problem fixed.

Once you've identified the problem as a plugin problem, I'd let the plugin author know the exact set of circumstances that aggravate the behavior.

* Are you using HonorBuddy 1.9.5.3?
This problem existed in 1.9.5.3; however, 1.9.5.5 and forward nobody has experienced this problem.

If you are using 1.9.5.3, we strongly suggest you update to the latest version (1.9.5.9 at this writing). Do a fresh install, by placing it in its own directory--do not overwrite the existing Honorbuddy directory.

As a very very last resort, you could try Lofi's Mount Helper plugin. It was written specifically to address the problem with 1.9.5.3, and is no longer supported as its unneeded.

If none of these fix your problem, I'm tapped out of ideas for the while. If one does, please let us know so we can capture the correct solution in the Wiki.

cheers,
CJ

No, all the mesh was already downloaded, I make sure to stay in front of my computer the first few runs to make sure it's all good. (also checked my logs)

I don't really use any plugins, I don't know if I should use any but it doesn't seem to be needed.

Honorbuddy version is 1.9.5.8

Also, it doesn't happen only in my profile I'm making, it also happened when I farmed for Wintersaber as well as Consortium (much less on this last one though).

Ah. If you believe it to be a profile problem there are a couple more things to check then...

* Make sure you have <MinLevel> and <MaxLevel> specified for ''both'' the HBProfile and all the SubProfiles it contains.
Sometimes, Honorbuddy will print out "Nothing to do in this profile" messages; but mostly, it just stands around if the toon doesn't meet the Profile's or any SubProfile level requirements.

* Might change Honorbuddy's "ground mount farming mode" setting.
When enabled, this setting causes it to ignore green & gray mobs while mounted. You might try disabling the setting to see if HB will attack the targets.

* I had a similar problem due to using the "Time Until Level" plugin.
The plugin was causing a divide-by-zero problem when being attacked by gray mobs. In calculating the experience per hour, the plugin was dividing by the experience given by the mob attacking you. For gray mobs, that value was zero--a boundary condition that was easy to miss.
Once attacked by a gray mob, Honorbuddy would simply cease functioning without throwing an exception, updating the log, or anything. The Toon would just stand there and do nothing until it died from the gray mob.
The point is, even if you think the plugin is trivial, you might give that another look.

You've got me curious. I'd like to know what you discover if you figure this out.

cheers,
CJ

I have the level properly set at both places, being Minlvl 1 and Max lvl 81.

I started using Fix Target Loop plug-in as well as MountHelper after your post.
These are the only ones I use, as well as panYama's plug-in for Wintersaber rep when I farm it.

Yes, I also had the issue with ground mount farming which left me wondering but I figured this one out and hopefully he started killing stuff again, but the bug still happened.

I also checked use mount (obvious) and kill between hotspots (toggled on and off but didn't change anything)

I am currently farming Timbermaw rep and, just like Consortium rep, it seems to be working fine. The only real issues have been for Wintersaber and Dampscale eyes atm (they pretty much are the only ones I've tried with Timbermaw).

/* This is a different problem, if you can help with this one too */
I'm also hitting some issues when my toon goes into a river than he can't get out of unless he takes one specific side or keeps going down that river. I added blackspots and increased the range to 150 to see if it'd make a difference, but it didn't.

1.9.5.8 has a bug that makes it stop sometimes if you enter combat making it die endlessly (only if you are mounted tho), 1.9.5.9 also has one but it's not as serious.

Problem is, it also happens when I'm not mounted although it reduces the chance of it happening.

The first thing I'd do is upgrade to 1.9.5.9. :)

I had a similar problem the other day, and opened a couple of bug reports due to the issues:
* http://bugtracker.buddyforum.de/viewissue.php?issue_no=144

Sometimes toons fall places they shouldn't (for various reasons), and recovering from this is not always possible for Honorbuddy. Sometimes it is simply a bad mesh file. In that case I'd open a Bugtracker report (Bugtracker appears to be closed for new bug reporting since the release of 1.9.5.9. Hopefully, it will open up again soon, as I've already found a few more. :) ). But in the case of Issue #144, its more than a bad mesh, and the solution for the Honorbuddy core probably won't be easy.

Issue #146 is a bad mesh issue:
* http://bugtracker.buddyforum.de/viewissue.php?issue_no=146

But adding blackspots--like your problem--did not aid the faulty pathing. Honorbuddy seems to frequently ignore blackspots.

I've seen someone mentioned the position of your Blackspots list in the Profile sometimes makes a difference, but I've been unable to confirm this. The person indicated that he needed to Blackspot around some vendors/mailboxes in a particular area, but his blackspots were being ignored. He indicated that the problem was solved when he moved the Blackspots list above the Vendors and Mailboxes lists in his Profile.

cheers,
CJ

So, if I understand, at the moment, there isn't any solid fix to me being attacked my mobs and not attacking while moving?

Sorry for the double post, just making an update. Thanks for the help guys.
