Project is finished, will be sending a starter email today and the result first week of 7th of may. Please stop sending me pm's with your emails. List is full and done.

The question that I can answer without a shadow of a doubt.

1. Does playtime play a role in bans.

2. Does reports play a role in bans.

3. Does stucks play a role in bans.

4. Does gathering/questing/grinding/dungeon/bg play a role in bans.

5. Does vmware help prevent a ban.

6. Does mac address play a role in mass bans.

7. Does veeepenn help prevent a ban.

8. Does hardware id play a role in mass bans.

9. Determine how risky it is to use sor.

10. Does having multiple accounts on 1 bnet matter.

11. How to appeal when getting banned.

12. General how to avoid getting banned tips.

13. How to level fastest.

14. Does billing address/credit card or any such info link your accounts together in a mass ban.

15. How to make the most gold with the most efficient time.

*** If there are any additional questions that needs to be answered please post on thread. I will see if I can answer them and add them as bullet points.***

This will cost a bit of money. But I dont care. I am really pissed at blizzard right now and I want to make it safer for the botting community. I hope I make my money back before bans, if not then life sucks. I will be making a biodata of the results for people interested in making their own bot farms or people interested in protecting their investment.

Someone should post some plugins here that helps reduce CPU usage to help out ^^

I have a idea, lets create a thread on a forum Blizzard reads. Lets then make this thread about testing how blizzards bans.IP/Hardware ID/Mac address.

Oh shit, someone beat me to it.

Especially when you then realize:
- IP address is never used by Blizzard since it can't identify a person. Ever.
- Mac Address is never used by Blizzard because they simply don't have that information. Ever.
- Hardware ID is never used by Blizzard because it can't identify a person. Ever.

This "project" is useless and silly. There is no information to be gained here, only accounts to be banned. Again.
Botting accounts being banned is ALWAYS related to unsafe botting by the botter. Whether it is accounts being linked by ingame transactions to accounts selling gold or botting too long or botting stupid stuff like BGs or botting too obvious routes, ALL bans are related to the botter being stupid.

Blalalalala.....

That reply simply says that they used IP logs to determine that the person was logging in using the same IP address as normal (ie. not hacked). It does not explicitly state that IP was used to enforce the ban.

but if it was different then the ban wouldn't have been enforced (common sense talking now), since if they're looking for a change then they are looking for a reason not to ban before banning.

My story:

~Two year ago I had 5xWow gether bots all very long time played, 1 pc, 1 ip (dynamic, adsl), other battle.net acc, other name. In between time lvl new char on other pc but this same ip and someone reported me because bot stuck in bg's yes I know my bad because I went to lunch....

After ~3 days all 6 accounts get banned.

GMs can investigate other accounts, especially for botters who use many accounts continously like cowboyx did and many others.

i agree they can investigate but multiple bots on the same ip dosent flag for a ban

I'm gonna call bullshit on this one. Over the last two months, I've had about 8 accounts banned in less than a week after hitting level 90. I've been botting on this IP for years and have had multiple bans. My brother's account was banned (appealed and re-opened) just because he was on the same IP for 5-6 hours. When they re-opened his account, Blizzard said that the IP he was on had been associated with exploitative activity.
Now, I'm running 3 VMs with 3 separate IPs, 2 accounts per VM. 3 weeks later and still running strong. They definitely use IPs to identify people. They don't ban everyone on the IP at first, but after enough bans on an IP they obviously flag it. As far as MAC/Hardware ID, that's yet to be proven but it is definitely possible.

Before you say something like "lol you suck I bot 24/7 for 5 years no bans noob!"...no you don't.

I believe that just because Blizz is "not allowed" to scan outside of certain processes and "can't obtain" certain information from your systems; doesn't mean that they don't. They did it before, and it got them sued and all; but there really isn't anything stopping them from doing it. I would be very interested to see the results, and possible correlations, involved here. Maybe it proves nothing at all, maybe it does.

IP and MAC addresses (not sure about hardware IDs) are sent over your connection, so Blizzard doesn't have to scan anything on your pc to see them.

There were patches where your tech specs were sent, maybe it was in there... again we can only guess but I'd guess that they use Hardware Id to detect if someone is using a *****/***.
