20 bots + on this system ??? i7 3930 oc

This thread was an interesting read, and it was worth it when people talked tech and explained using logic. Now its a epeen meter with some people getting 10 bots in their pentiums, and a couple on their amigas.
Some opinions in here are laughable, really. Some are /facepalm.

Op, if anyone had indeed managed to handle 20 bots with their comps, and there are some really crazy machines here, we would have had screenshots to prove. Truth is no one has, so far, even bragged about doing so without giving a proof. It is not possible at the time without expending a illogical amount of money to build a server or setting a multiple cpu computer.

LOL you must be crazy or have absolutely no idea about wtf you are talking about..

I have an i5 3570 k. No extra programs like isboxer. I run 10 bots easily at 60% peak. You are doing something wrong and should probably stop talking about something you know nothing about.

yeah bro you dissed the i5 a little too hard in your post - I run 7 diablos and still can play games like fifa bf3 wow sc2 at the same time. bf3 tho takes the cpu usage to a constant 100% and i dont like it so i kill 2 bot sessions when i play that one...

I believe we've had. Some dude posted his dual xeon configuration, with 15 bots on and quite a lot more CPU power available. So we've kinda seen it. But this is crazy, nonetheless. The best i've personally tried is the FX-8350. It is very cheap for what it does and it is capable of running a good number of bots.

Are you talking about redphoenix computer? The price to build that is really close to 4000 ? , about 5000 $. That's in my book for illogical expense, you could buy 4 computers able to handle 12-15 bots for that price. If you honestly have the budget to buy that, you should get yourself a few bitcoin miner comps. Much wiser investment in that price range, ain't it?

Stats are irrelivent when not posted with difficulty / fps / tps / or even cache rate.

You can run bots until your ram caps out at 1fps/1tps if your shovelin what im shittin.

For what ever reason difficulty also plays a large role. I'm guessing its something to do with mpq's stacking or monster affixes growing in number, but it def 100% makes the game harder to run.

I personally dont like going under 8tps/14fps and much rather running on 10/15. Takes a lot more resources but they also produce noticibly better in my experience. I know some people gold farm at 5tps/12fps and try to make up for it with mass bots per comp. Nothing wrong with it but it does matter when posting in a thread like this when you are comparing total different setups.

let me sum up this thread:

- logical argumentation suggests it's not possible to run 20 instances with good settings (15fps, 10tps, itemfarming inferno) even on an overclocked 3930k. an user who actually owns this cpu backs this up with his own experience.

- it has once again been stated that this, however, is possible on a xeon build which will set you back several thousands of dollars, being a highly inefficient investment price-wise

- the obligatory shit-talkers appeared claiming to run an unbelievable amount of instances on their i5 cpus because they are overclocking genuises without proving anything, not even a valid argumentation.

lol 7 is an amazing number? my 3.4 i5 is not even overclocked...

not correct question bacause gear and build parameters are matter 2
but iph usually about 500 or something

yea D3 takes Up like a crap load of CPU
it takes up almost 2 or 3 times the amount of what world of warcraft uses.
i have a G620 cpu 8 gb ram
I can barely run 2 D3 bots.
running at 93% cpu + at all times.

Nope, i am talking about some dude who had it built from scratch, using ES parts bought 1 by 1 on ebay and such, for a long stretch of time (i assume) for ~$1000 (his words). I still don't believe that'd cut it, but somewhere around $1500 is possible, provided you can find not only cheap cpu (easy), but also MOBO (very hard) and server memory (also hard).

As for the mining hardware, already purchased one of those, but the smaller one. They have like thousands of pre-orders, been waiting 4 months for it by now and it looks like they haven't even started dispatching them. Anyway, BC mining is a whole different story and currently small scale botting is much more profitable than small scale BC mining. When the Butterfly hardware comes along that will change, however, the price per single BC will go down and the mining difficulty will go up. So it is pretty hard to project whether or not it will be worth it.

Cheers
