Hey guys, I have this problem where my druid would fly towards a mob and stay in flight form and not change into cat form to attack the mob. The mob is just attacking me, until singular forces me to heal myself, then it proceeds to go into cat form then kill the mob.

Is there a way to make the bot know when its getting attacked and get out of flight form and into cat form??

Hi, Unit420,

Unforunately, this log doesn't show the problem happening. So, we'll have to hazard a guess.

When in flight form, the druid is considered 'mounted'. Honorbuddy arranges for 'mounted' toons to somewhat ignore combat. This allows traveling through areas where a mob may take a swipe at you as you pass, but you want to really keep moving to your destination rather than stop and fight the mob.

I believe Honorbuddy is ignoring the mob attacking you until the mob does some reasonable damage. Once damaged enough, Honorbuddy decides to address the problem rather than run from it.

If this is not your case, we'll need to see the log when then problem is actually happening.

cheers,

I just watched my bot carefully for 20 minutes or so, and this does seem like the case. It would sit in druid's flight form, as you said its counted as "mounted". Until I take a substantial amount of damage, that is when it goes into cat form and engage in combat. Thanks.

However I do have another question, is there any way to fix the problem of, druid not being able to attack mobs under water? It would target the mob during flight form and sit there and will not change forms. Since flight form can not swim, it will just hover above the mob and idle.

Hi, Unit420,

What you are describing is one of the bugs in native flying. Indeed, here is your problem:

[00:26:26.741 D] UseNativeFlying: True

Turn off "native flying" in your Honorbuddy settings, and you will be off-and-away. Sorry I missed this the first time around.
More info here: HelpDesk: Honorbuddy and flying

Oh so thats the problem. I thought "native flying" meant using a built in flying skill in the class, like druid flight form or monk's zen flight. I will turn it off and will let you know if I still have any problems. Thanks for all the help up until now chinajade :D

Hey everything is working great after you told me to turn off native flying. But now one more quick question. Is there any reason why druids don't swim with their aquatic form?

Hi, Unit420,

That would be up to your Combat Routine to decide:
  • You may have a configuration option available to you.
  • The Combat Routine may not support it because of other problems it may cause.
  • It may be a feature that has yet to be implemented.
In short, you just need to look around your particular Combat Routine configuration, or go look for one that supports the feature you desire. If you've a favorite CR that doesn't support Aquatic Form, provide feedback to their thread and see if they will consider it.

cheers,
chinajade
