nope . blizzard put a price floor on gold to give gold a false sense of value that's all ;)
I think another poster actually hit the nail on the head.. and the price floor is because $0.25 is the minimum transaction cost blizz wants to deal with. It's not as if you can buy 100k for 2.5c, and you can buy gems and other items, and subsequently sell them to get a better price for gold than $0.25/m, so the price floor doesn't appear to be some nonsensical attempt to fool people into thinking that gold is actually worth $0.25/m. And honestly, who would be fooled by this, when radiant star gems are selling for $2 on the RMAH, and 20-30m on the GAH?

I also think, as someone else suggested, that blizz may want players to use the gold auction house to buy something like a gem, and then sell the gem on the rmah, as opposed to simply selling gold and a price floor on gold is a great way of making this happen while still allowing people to buy gold. With things as they stand, when someone wants to buy/sell gold, blizzard removes 15% of the gold cost of the gem from the gold supply when the gold seller buys the gem, and then another 15% when the person who buys the gem on the rmah converts the gem back to gold. Unfortunately, players are not stupid enough to fall for this trick for very long. Most people have realized that gems can be bought and sold quite rapidly without using the AH.

nope . it is the minimum sale amount . you can't sell 1m gold for example

ya actually now that I think of it I tried to buy some gold on rmah once and it wouldn't let me buy less than $1 worth lol. I guess the thing about blizzard trying to delete more gold still applies though

I think there should be a floor price for gems. Material-free radiant gems cost 15m=3.75 ?. If this is set, gems AND gold will sell, at least for the hardcore blizz boys who don't buy from 3rd party sites. And they are a lot I believe.

Wow people who want the limit lowered have not thought it through at all. They are clearly not making any money right now. When people THINK that gold is worth 25cents a million it makes Items easier to sell on RMAH then if they THINK gold is worth 10 cents a million. I buy stuff for 10 million and sell it for 2 $ all the time. Which works out to about 34cents a million for me xD

There's a large group of unhappy botters who are still "In the Red" (on the losing end) financially, and they want to take the "easy way out" -> lowering the gold floor.

Lowering the gold floor will just crash and burn whatever is left of the economy.

Which bank do you use that is able to handle all those 85 cent deposits? Is it FDIC insured with a strong diversification of its holdings?

btw since at 2$ ur spending more in fee's than you're even earning, the math actually brings out those transactions at .08 per m. micro transactions with a flat 1$ fee have to make sense before they are relevant

Which RMAH are you using where you don't pay the $1 fee + 15%..?

You need to rethink how you came up with .34 cents per million.

Omfg, can someone configure the forum-software please?

It's set so it will push old threads up when someone uses the (meaningless) poll like someone replied in it. We will now see this thread pushed over and over again just because will vote on the poll. Has previously happened with really old polls and it's annoying and doesn't help anything at all.

so istead of 1000? ill get 60-70? by sellings gem?

noty ill save it on my main account that i havent botted on and hope for 1.08

either sell now at cheap rates... or sell when the prices goes up, but then everyone sells so the prices tank. big profits are over. wish they'd do a ban wave especially for CHINA and a ladder reset, lets start FRESH and give our bots a good start in a fresh new economy where gold is $10 / mil at least

or another blizz game with rmah that hopefully buddy will support.

why u dont understand that the only persons getting profits from RMAH are chinese farmers company and blizzard itself?

We all were richer if we all sold the gold privately at friends or others players, like we did in d2.

People in d2 were buying ALL the items they needed outsite the game, so ANY player was a potential customer.

IN d3 every player can buy the same item from ah or rmah , so why should buy from you?

If they lower the limit of the gold, u could seen 100 mio going for 0.5$ , so NO we dont need that

I hope they remove the cap, Haven't sold any gold in month anyways. I just wanna see how fast it hits 0.001?.
And I could possibly get rid of my remaining gold for 0.10e or something in the beginning.

If you have any brain left, read your text and think about it.

I can tell it again and again. Chinese companies doesnt care about the price, they only care about profit. And without any cap, the gold will hit between just a few days the lowest possible price, even if it would be 1 cent! And remember: Gold is always free for the bigger companies! Its doesnt matter if they now sell 100b or than 50000b for the same profit. Ask yourself: How much can you farm? How much worth is your time? blabla...
