Not open for further replies.
Here many crashs and higly CPU usage.. trinity 2.9 + Dbeta .183

I can not tell if the problem is with the DB or the trinity. I'll go back a few versions of trinity, can someone tell me a stable version and small CPU usage? FOR BARB..

Another crash with 3.0.4 and 1.7.2.8 and with a clear install of D3 on another HDD.

Will fall back to 1.7.2.2 and report back.

Been running .9 trinity and latest db beta for the last 36 hours now without a crash, very stable. The only problems i've seen is that the bot runs off while the "waiting for town portal" routine is going off so you still miss some loot this way. You solved the problem before in version 1.7.2.1, in that version you made the bot stay on top of the loot like it has a "leash". Is there anyway you could just revert to that tp logic?

Trinity 1.7.2.9 does not have 36 hours since it has been launched, maybe you're using 1.7.2.8?

When updating Trinity, is there any easy way to save each bot's settings? The settings folder doesn't look like it has the right information (each bot has slightly different settings) so before I start messing with stuff, anyone have a good technique? Thanks =)

no, .9 but your right i briefly switched from .8 since then so only 12 hours on this version.

The settings files are always backwards compatible. You usually don't need to do a fresh install of everything unless you're having serious issues.

So if I want to update from .8 to .9, what do I need to do exactly? I usually just start from scratch =P

The reason I want to upgrade is because one of my bots often just stands around elites scratching his nuts for 3-5 seconds at a time, never used to do this before. My TR monks are fine, but this one isn't. Any suggestions?

Edit: actually, it's a female monk. She does something else for those 3-5 seconds.

Extract Trinity Folder To The Existing One. Select "Replace All". It Will Replace All The Files That Have Changed.

I added a little thing in 1.7.2.7 that might have slipped by some people:

  • Bot should be better about not attacking units that are standing directly in avoidance

This might be what is causing everyone to complain, while elites are around, and the bot is not attacking. In the next release, I've added a checkbox to disable this (e.g. go back to the way it used to be, more kamakaze style)

So if you find your bot standing around when elites are present (like molten, or arcane) and it's not attacking them - try adjusting the Health % slider on the appropriate avoidance type. I do not personally use the defaults, but i have a ton of AR and vit on most of my characters. I use anywhere from 10-25% health.

This health % slider is how trinity knows when to start paying attention to that avoidance type, and monsters standing in that avoidance may NOT be attacked with the current functionality.

Another way to test if this is causing you issues, is disable the "Attempt to avoid AOE" checkbox on the Combat>Misc page. If your bot starts working as you expect, then this is it...

P.S. Ideally this should be more intelligent - e.g. the bot should try and attack a monster in AoE as long as it doesn't make the hero stand in AoE while doing that action, but then it gets a little complex, as each class/build can have varying attack ranges. DH's by default are probably OK, but Wiz/WD both have popular "melee" builds. Monks and Barbarians naturally tend to stand in the fire...

Found an ugly CPU consuming bug introduced recently. Working on a fix..

rrrix - I have both of those options set as you mentioned, however it's not only when avoidance obstacles are present. Sometimes she'll run up to an elite pack and just stand there, with nothing else around. If I manually click to attack a nearby monster, the bot will start to work properly again. It's weird that I only have this issue on one bot. I've actually had the issue present in previous versions of Trinity (I think .7 had it) so I'd revert to an earlier version. I'm constantly testing different builds and settings to try to maximize efficiency, but anything I try on this bot doesn't fix the issue. I'll upgrade to .9 when the "ugly CPU consuming bug" is fixed, and report my findings. Appreciate all your work and involvement with the community. Donation inc

Edit: Just walked in the room and saw it standing next to 3 white mobs not attacking. Some elites ran over so it went and killed them. No avoidance on screen at all.

1.7.2.9 fixes the standing around bug.

1.7.2.10 will have the CPU bug fixed.

will reduce the CPU usage? in .2.7 the CPU usage here was between 70-90max... in .2.9 the CPU usage is 97-100. perhaps this is why many crash with me..

4 accounts.

I have a problem with doing townruns when inventory is full or when left with 1 spot in the inventory.
The bot keeps killing of mobs, bypassing loot. Sometimes resets when the profile is done and it starts
a new game and does a run. Didnt find anything odd when i looked thru the logs.. it just didnt trigger the townrun method for some reason and just keeps going thru the profile :/

Running 304 with latest trin. Cant attach log atm due to @ work.

Are the people having trouble with the bot not attacking only using monks?
I've been watching it and it seems that when it stops it is always because its trying to use WoL before I reach the 75 spirit required to use it, so it just sits there and doesn't attack because of it. (from what I've watched every time I noticed it stop attacking.)
