[Guide] Decrease CPU & GPU usage while botting [D3Prefs.txt]

wow, these d3prefs suck
my GPH has gone down on every bot
my DPH has gone UP on every bot since switching to these prefs

what the fuck?
 
Is there any way to have two different sets of D3 installations? IE, one for botting with those low specs and another one for playing, with full specs?

Uhmmm... Isn´t there any non-paid way to do that? It´s not crucial, but I like to play D3 with my friends as well and I´ve only got 1 machine to run it. If not, I guess a simple direct access to the D3Prefs folder and two files will do the trick...
 
What I did was to make a couple of .bat files and one of the lines is
copy "C:\Users\me\Documents\Diablo III\D3Prefs_bot.txt" "C:\Users\me\Documents\Diablo III\D3Prefs.txt" /y
so you need two files one with your bot settings one with your normal play settings so for instance "D3Prefs_bot.txt" and "D3Prefs_normal.txt" then two .bat files one for bot and one for normal then just copy the settings you want before you start the game which I have as the last line in the .bat file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III\Diablo III.exe" -launcher"
 
a quick question :P

can you also reduce ram usages with this?
or just cpu load?

(my ram is my bottleneck atm, only 8gb :/)
cpu load is only at 30-40% (without d3prefs)
running 8 bots atm
 
I have many freeze problems with my bot. I hope your file will help trying it now. giving feedback in a few days. ty
 
It was not setup as window mode. tough at first sight it shows less lag. it points the right way
 
Any tips to decrease memory loading?
Now have 16GB ram and 10 bots. 14Gb for bots :(
OFC i stop some windows process, only 40 threads with 20 from db+diablo.

If you're already using 16-bit color, then I am not aware of anything else.
 
Guys, i have been using the edited d3prefs for a long time now, but gave it to a friend and he reports some rather strange stuff. Looks like when using them, a lag occurs (he has 6 clients). Strangely, without edited d3prefs the clients run better. How is this possible, aren't these settings supposed to cut down the usage of cpu/gpu?
So i decided to give it a try without and guess what? There is simple no difference.. Cpu usage even went down. I am wondering whether these actually help at all..
 
it make diference when you use your pc close to maximum, if you got reserve run it at more fps

I have the same problem, I can't run mroe than 5 bots on i7 with this d3prefs. When I put the default one it goes back to 10+ bots.
I guess it's some issue with the nvidia drivers and the bad quality graffic.
 
bot was crashing a lot with this pref.Look that with the normal ones (all on min) bot runs better. strange =/
 
I cannot set to 16bit color. It change to fullscreen whenever I did that. And when I change back to window mode. The color is also back to 32bit, and something are gonna change to default too. What should I do ?
 
I can't get my D3 to save my settings. Between launches I get the default. Also I have a better tweaked d3pref from 8 months ago before my first bans. Maybe I'm just playing this up because my memory remembers there being some amazing tweaks because I had 6 clients working on an i5.
 
4 bots, modified d3prefs,

old i7-950
24gb ram
1gb evga 560ti
apocs launcher from ssd

6 % cpu per bot (3 client, 3 db)

Hey guys,

i just downloaded the prefs, only adjustment i made was making the game windowed. Everything else, FPS and shadow setings etc.. are default with the prefs i downloaded. My demonbuddy is using 15% CPU per client and my diablo is using 11-15% per client. im running 3 bots on my computer which is decent. 2.9Ghz quad core and 6gb memory with a pretty sick video card. I read something about lower the settings to 16-bit to make it run better? if so how do i do that.

I want my programs to run as efficient as aaron913 . 3% DB and 3% D3,

Id appreciate any help i can get!
 
Hi. i have been using the d3prefs for awhile and would like to switch back to its original. anyone have an idea how to do so?
