A Barb, Monk, And WD Enter Into A Race...

harmacintyre, can you tell us what specs your toons are running ?

I am guessing, WD is grave injustice bears and firebombs ? Barb is WW of course. Monk ???
 
Yes to both. Other is fleet foot. OnE tclap. WoL Serenity breath of heaven
 
I found Acid Cloud w/ Acid Rain superior to Bears for botting (although Bears are obviously the best for manual play), personally. Not sure if the difference is particularly significant, though. I assume you're using Horrify w/ Stalker for the extra movement speed?

Sorry I thought that meant you were doing this for fun. If it was for money you would bot your monks with plvl100, right?

No flame, no rage, but your barb needs 5 piece ik. Please, have you tried to use 5 piece IK, ever? The answer is obviously no because if you did, you would know. IK set is so cheap now it fits in your 20-25 mil range AND they can roll +pickup radius.

100kdps 1 hits most trash mobs mp0, 125k can run you mp2 easily. There is very little stopping to fight unless it's elite pack. Then you are right that the WoL is better. How much time you spend on e pack compared to running around?



This idea of this race is nice and I want to see the results, although based on conversations they have been foreshadowed.
 
^my barb bot has 149k dps after battlerage, it doesnt 1 shot mobs with whirlwind specially non crit do you 1 shot mobs with whirlwind at 100k dps? I dont believe you, i also run ik 5 pc with more than 50m+ worth of gears and gems, ive tried mp1 and mp2 and it gave me a very large and significant decrease on exp gained, item per hour and gph. where did you get that its more beneficial to run mp2 with 125k dps. anyhow with all that said my monk doesnt even have 20m worth of gears and has shitty gems, right after this thread was made I made them race again for 5x just to see, my monk won all 5 race its not even close.

I'm beginning to suspect with your statements that ''100k dps 1 shots mobs, 125k mp2'' that you are being biased towards barbs.
 
and even if it did one shot it will still have to go close to it and act 3 mobs are a pain, specially with the occulists,spearthrowers,flying thingies,shamans,succubus and more. when monk can just stand in middle and cast wave of light
doesnt matter if you're a shaman/occulist or whatever you will get 1 shotted to oblivion, not to mention thunderclap.

I am doing this for fun. Making money is fun, and i can do a race while im at it.

I have tried ik set, and its not as godly as people are saying it is. sure you get a little more fury generation, but you miss out on other set bonuses.
That being said, i will consider it for a future barbarian(if i decide to make another)


As for the race - its a lot of people giving their opinions with nothing to back it up except for saying what i should have done. its too late. i am not going to switch builds and compromise the race.

Grinch12, you completely misunderstand what he is saying. with 125k dps, he can 1 shot mp0 mobs. So can I. 125k is an average. if he has say 450 percent crit damage, one hit could easily one hit a mob with 400k+ damage. And he said nothing about his "WW" doing the damage, you just added that in for some reason.

^I dont just "add that for some reason" thats what the bots use for killing stuff, thats what your build even does. i crit 70-80k with whirlwind, not enough to kill a mob except the low hp ones like scoropons. but check the post i made after, its almost irrelevant.

We have already been over this. and this same exact build and gear on my pl 100 barb brings 515-600k. so i am not worried

Yea, but when my guy hits 100 he will be doing 800k an hour. Your build is weak.
 
fine, i challenge you to do better,using 75m max to race 3 chars. Screenshot every item you buy and its price. posts screenshots daily of their levels and gph

Did you even read the whole thread? I'm not trashing anything really, I made suggestions to him that would have helped greatly which he rudely dismissed. Did you look at his build form the third page? Yea, it's weak. I'm just trying to help the guy.
