What's up with the 98% downtime?

It's a rare thing being able to view a page on these forums nowadays.. Any words on what's going on, and/or when we can expect everything to be ok again? It has been going on for quite a while now I think.
 
Ironic that group of programmers cant maintain a relatively small forum.
 
this issue cannot be resolved by software alone, it needs to be done at a hardware level but Bossland doesn't want to pay out for proper DDoS protection... hosting on Amazon would eliminate the DDoS straight away.

EDIT: I was wrong, they have ordered hardware so I take back what I said.

CloudFlare is already protecting us against the "traffic" DDoS. However, the current one is from legitimate traffic overloading our server. There's nothing any DDoS protection service can do to help us at this point.

I heard you ordered hardware and it would be done within 3 days approx, so I take back what I said as I was not aware.

thanks for being the better man and being like "hey i was wrong" if more people would do that the world would be a lot better.
 
Yeah it's been pretty rough the past couple of days but I assure you they are working on it. You can tell by the new firewalls and seeing the forum actually being up.

If they ordered hardware all the more power.
 
The servers are finally a little stable, at least I was able to download a few profiles and everything I can possibly need in case the site goes down for a week :P

Keep up the good work though, I know you are trying hard.

I have a question though. The profiles that I can download, are they safe ? Or is there a chance that they are infected ? If they can be?

Yay for new hardware! I've been wanting to get some new profiles uploaded for testing but haven't been able to log on for the last few days until just now. I missed this silly forum. :)
 
Glad to see you guys back online. I was going a little stir crazy not being able to visit my favorite forums.
 
Yeah it does indeed seem a lot better right now (maybe because of the time of the day that I'm visiting). It's still a little slow but that's a lot better than down :)
 
Glad the page is up again :D Can't get past 8 hours of work without browsing this forum :D
