I'm sure this question has come up before but I'm new here so I'm going to ask it one more time. Say a person has two accounts, one they use to play legit and one they bot on. If the botting account gets banned will this affect the other account playing on the IP? :p

No, it will only affect the account where Blizzard bans you on.
So the other account won't be affected.

Only the account flagged as a bot will be banned, many people have 2+ accounts keeping one legit, and the rest botters, trading gold from one player to another is not illegal, nor is trading items for no gold / money. Your account will only be banned if it gets flagged.

No one really knows how accounts get flagged, personally I think its down to the amount of short breaks and sleep intervals you allow the bot to take, no one can play for 24/7 7 days a week. but it's all just theories, and at the end of the day. If you don't want to get a ban, don't bot. Don't gamble with what you can't afford to lose.

That would be a big mistake you made.
The best result you can do, is to set items from your main account on AH for a huge price. Then buy it on AH with your bot and that's a safe risk you take I guess?
So if I had already set up the second account with gear and gold from my main than the two accounts would already be associated hence increasing a risk on both accounts.

Do you have a friend? would you give him gold and loot for free if he was a good friend? that's all that's happening when you trade between accounts, perhaps giving your son a helping hand on his characters, or your wife, there is nothing to say you can't hold and play and trade between multiple accounts anywhere. All blizzard want is for people like you and me not to ruin the economy in the game. Once you use your head and only make a little gold and money p/w and allow it to accumulate over the course of many weeks and months you'll be fine.

Everyone is a little nervous at first when they start botting, but in reality it's almost impossible to get found out, I have heard of people with 20 accounts running 24/7 for months with no action, and then suddenly 14 get banned and 6 don't. What's the difference with the odd 6 accounts? nobody knows... on the other hand I know people with just 20 accounts and never had a warning, infraction or temp ban in their 4 years of botting and probably never will.

It's a turkey shoot, risk one account to bot with if you like, but the other, no matter what interaction it has with the bot acc, has no cause to be banned.

Thanks for the helpful reply. I just want to confirm that my main account will not be affected.

i've seen report of a mule getting banned. ofc we can't know if it was ever botted on, even if for a single hour.
but i would never think safe of any account that gets in contact with a bot.

just my two tinfoil cents.

Can anyone else confirm the banning of a mule account (account that as never been botted on)?
