There any way to get this to not run like complete shit? Bot lags like fuck when running under VMWare.

4core 3.2ghz -- 12gb ram -- radeon hd 6950 2gb -- sata HD ( no ssd yet :( )

Task Manager > Diablo III.exe > Set Priority > AboveNormal/High
working with 1/1 CPU/CORE.
If u restart ur VM, those settings reset. U have to set this again, again and again, after each restart.

a free software called "Prio" saves your process settings so you don't have to keep setting it again.

there is no need for a software
just use this in a *.bat-file to start your d3s
start /high "" "C:/Diablo III/Diablo III.exe" -launch

that's if you're starting ONE client instance.
what if you're using multiple instances of the client opening through d3starter? then you'll need Prio.

people get banned using vmware just as much as those who dont, ie not worth installing/using

My VMWare is lagging like shit too...
...i'm sure i set everything right and my setup is nice too, but something is just wrong :-/

32bit is fine enough. use google to clean up your vm as much as you can. max 32 task's is your goal inside your vm.

but if you dont need a vm realy, its useless. trust the users here.

Because it is a virtual environment and nothing that was created to play games in.
It works but never expect it to run like without vmware.

Mine runs flawlessly now... my deaths per hour went from like 100 to around 3-6 lol. I changed my CPU from 1cpu/1core to 1cpu/2cores ... increased the memory 2gigs, and set the d3.exe in task mgr priority to HIGH.

I've set 8 GB RAM and 4 Cores (tested it with 1, 2, 4 and 8 cores) and it's fine for the first ~30mins! After some time everything starts lagging and then later on the whole VM just freeze!

Another annoying problem is...
...random DCs!

Dont know why, but my VM has DCs for 1second and thats a DC ingame too
=> frustrating
