Have been botting close to 24/7 since November, guess my luck ran out.

super lucky

i know about 6 people IRL and none of us have been banned since october i dont think the majority of bot users actually get banned.seems to be the quite ones cause from the forums youd think everyone was banned..only botting 4-8 hours a day and hours you can monitor(along with many other things such as using random names on these forums, checking the ban section daily, and other things we dont want blizzard knowing) really effect your chances imo.

But otherwise sorry to hear about your luck

A small minority got banned on December 18. We had more complaints about taking DB offline than about bans.

I lol hard irl when I read this.

Enough said. The small minority included everybody I know that botted ...across 3 continents. And by taking a look at the ban reports of the time and the polls created, your small minority seems to be a huge majority of people that browse this forum.

Indeed. Thats what the forum is for. But we actually look at bots online and the the fall in our figures matches with the statements by Blizzard that they banned a few 1000 accounts.

i don't understand this

i was botting single char and when you view the char features it was beyond even a professional player with over 1 billion gold gear

and yet i am banned. so i was in banned minority with these features.

why don't you be transparent

people who has demon buddy key should be able to see how many sessions are online

you can easily prepare a web page which will show this statistic

so we can know how many got hit or not

you can add a single piece of code to the Log On - Buddy Auth Portal which will show globally online session count

I've given an estimate of 5000 and its as close as we will ever get.

Let's do some simple math. If, as you just said, 5000 banned accounts are a "small minority" of the DB-userbase I will estimate the real userbase to about 10.000 DB keys (probably alot more since "small minority" is more likely 5-10% and not 50% how I just estimated).

Cheapest way to buy 10k DB keys would by to buy 1-year 3 session licences. That would translate into 200k € you made from DB alone. And that calculation is made with very low assumptions, probably just a fraction of the real figure.

But thanks for the great DB updates that will come out every few months with features that are bugged and not needed. Nice cashcow you got going here, eh?

they probably made several millions euro
200k is too low.

Yes we are a business with income, salaries, costs and the litigation that goes with being in the bot world. However, that has no bearing on the risk of bans. Please stay on topic.
