How many bots could this run?

Building a new pc when income tax comes, this is gonna be the setup:

Intel Core i5 3570k
ASRock Z77 Extreme4
16GB G.Skill Sniper Series Ram
120GB SSD
1GB Asus GTX 650 Ti

How many bots would a machine like this be able to handle?

Get 2GB of Vram or enjoy artifacts.

About 8-10 bots (RAM is cheap, get 3x 8GB sticks).

Yes. Also Radeon cards usually have more VRAM in their low-mid tier cards, so since you can re-size windows and use a lot less GPU, you can get away with a $100 radeon with 2GB vram.

EVGA GeForce GTX 650 2048MB GDDR5

I generally stick to nVidia as well, so that maybe the best you'll get for the cheapest.
