zero questing supportability?

Im a longtime user of honorbuddy and hearthbuddy, so I figured Id try RebornBuddy as Ive recently gotten into the game.


Ive downloaded a fuckton of plugins and profiles and a couple botbases, but NOTHING I use it seems will allow me to pick up main quests, do them, and turn them in. The closest I've gotten so far was the questing profile linked everywhere on the forums using the order botbase and the questhelper plugin, and it makes me run around to a random place on none of my quests. Then it errors a few times and just ceases to work, it saddens me the only way to level it feels like is Fate grinding.

update: Turns out its just trying to do all the quests with no discrimination for main storyline or not, including those at half of my level. lovely.

Well since you are new to the game, I'll break the bad news in some more... after you do the main story line and get that first class to 60.... you and fates will become BFFs..

Secondly, yeah the questing profiles have some issues, and yes they use orderbot.. While you may be familiar with honorbuddy and the huge community that supports profiles and plugins, XIV is not nearly that big with its entire 1 developer, mastahg.
I do not think that the 1-whatever profile, originally done by.. kameakgdsahsomething (sorry can not remember the name) has been updated at all since they originally made it, since they sell it on some other site for $.. However, y2krazy has done wonderful job with questing profiles for 2.2(?) and above, all the way to HW..

While botting is good/fun times and saves you from having to manually play a game that you spent money on, a game like XIV would be ALOT better to actually play through the story on your first go through.. then bot the endless grind which is worst than d3 paragon leveling to get your other classes to 60.

So, to give you a little backstory.....

kagamihiiragi17 is the original author of the "Official" Questing profile. He was actually contracted out by Bossland to write the questing profile. The biggest problem was that half of what was needed to implement the profile correctly either didn't work or just flat out wasn't built yet, so kagamihiiragi17 had to spend a lot of time working hand in hand with Mastahg to get stuff working. In the end, there was a falling out between Mastahg and kagamihiiragi17 which concluded with kagamihiiragi17 releasing what he had done on the questing profile as is, and him never touching it again. I also wanted to clarify that the profile is NOT being sold for $$ on any other web site. kagamihiiragi17 felt that trying to sell that profile for money elsewhere would have been in poor taste since Bossland already paid him for his work on it.

Y2Krazy has also done a lot of work on different Questing Profiles and you can find it all on his personal SVN for free. The one thing that I would stress the most about coming over to RebornBuddy is that it is nowhere near the bot that HonorBuddy is. Just to clarify, I'm not saying that RebornBuddy isn't good at what it does, it's just a fact that HonorBuddy has been out for a lot longer than RebornBuddy and it has a team of developers while RebornBuddy has 1.

My Mistake, his other ones for 2.1+ are. When thatother site started, i could have sworn i saw the 1-50 profile on there.. But none the less...

But with changes to quest and such, I wouldnt even waste time with the 1-50 profile at all.. while SOME of it will work, you will be spending more time stopping and restarting the bot and doing a majority of quests by hand.. Complete 2.0 by yourself (it really doesnt take too long).. use the bot to grind in between levels for quest.. then continue doing them by hand. Once you start 2.1, i would recommend using y2krazy's profiles. He tries to maintain them and has done an excellent job...

I wouldn't advise to run the 1-50 questing profile afk, but it's not that bad as you picture it to be. There are times where you need to interfere, mostly due to mesh issues (camp dragonhead inside buildings) or an occasional no viable path problems. Other then some duties I haven't done anything by hand so far (40+).
