You are now set to: AFK

While I'm botting, my status is set to AFK. Is this bad?

Yes.

Go into your Settings -> Bot

On the lower left side is a box that says "Game always in the foreground"

Make sure the box is checked.

I checked it, but the game seems to still be in the background.

Log out and back in again with that setting checked, you'll notice "You are now AFK" won't show up again.

Serious question: Did you make sure to select "Save and Close" after checking the box? Did you try restarting DB and looking at the setting to make sure it "stuck"?
