Soo, after not botting for ´quite some time by now and being very curious, did anyone find out what exactly caused the 6 month WoD banwave?(the one that happened in May 2015 if I remember correctly)

When it was happening people said it was because of garrison bots(which I didn't use) or maybe rotation bots(which I did use), did anything definitive ever come out to the public as to why it happened? Or did everybody just continue living their lives(or non-lives in my case)? It was no detection as far as I can remember because not everybody got banned, so I'm pretty curious.

No, the only people that know what caused the various banwave are members of Blizzard's security team. Everything else is pure speculation and will always be pure speculation, including any of the various excuses the HB team has given throughout the years.

Anyone that tells you they know anything is straight up lying.

100% agree with Wally. I used rotation bot exclusively during that time and was nailed. Since then I was hit with a ban using a competitors 64 bit rotation bot.

Long and the short of it is Blizz can basically hammer whoever and whenever they please depending on thier wants and desires. I am fairly confident Blizz uses a careful ban wave to increase sales and boosts etc. Bots for them are actually money makers and they love us.

wasnt the cause of how much ram honorbuddy was using?
i remember a buddy of mine sent letter to blizzard law department and got himself unbanned by using some lawyer shit against them.
He also mentioned that he was also using a third program (not botting) which was legit. other random software which use the same ram

No, not a single person with any shred of knowledge has ever claimed it has ever had anything to do with RAM usage.
