WoW Sales - a trap?

Ever since I was banned on my SoR account I've been thinking that Blizzard selectively watches accounts. It would be too much work to watch every single account, so they narrow it down to groups: new/sales, SoR, RaF.

I'm pretty tempted to get back into botting because of the ongoing deal, but I can't fight the feeling that it's a trap for botters.

What has your experience been with RaF, SoR, and these deals?

Ive been botting since early tbc and never had a ban, and with this christmas prices I have bought 5 new accounts total and still nothing

hmm but what does make sense is that they are banning a few people just in time for their promotion
