nothing in HB but msg "closing HB in 20 seconds due to no game instance"

Things i've tried

- disable all addons
- confirm no programs installed that are listed on WIKI page
- removed any other random programs and stoped all non-essential processes in task manager.
- directx 9
- 32 bit game
- reinstall HB
- delete cache folder
- delete character settings folder in HB root directory.
- trailed forums for any similar threads.
- adjusted graphics settings

Please would appreciate any assistance.

Hi, Yolan, and thanks for the log.

You should be commended for all the things you've tried to correct the problem!

This is clearly a program on your machine that is interfering with Honorbuddy operation. Here are two articles to help you get started chasing it down:

We've seen instances where malware will also cause this problem. Honorbuddy checks for a few of the known, popular culprits. But, there are far too many, and they're constantly changing for Honorbuddy's detection to be encompassing. You should run a malware scan, also.

cheers,

Hi Chinajade,

Thanks for your reply, with regards to your recommendation, I have already been through these pages,

Some more items I have checked since your response:

- Checked ANY non essential programs installed and removed.
- downgraded to legacy NVIDIA geforce drivers.
- I'm not running any AV software
- Killed every single non-windows essential process in task manager and tested
- Run malware bytes scan on PC with no infected files found.

I really not sure what else I can do, I will mention i have used HB in the past (1years ago) with no issues at all, Only difference since then is I've upgraded to Windows 10.

Is there anything else you can do to assist?

The WOW client will usually crash anywhere from 1min - 5mins after hitting "start" button

Regards

Hi there,

This sounds very similar to my issue.

As a temp fix I am able to run HB fine while having a 64bit client open in the background (not logged in, simply open).

For example I run 3 WoW clients - 64bit not logged in and 2x 32bit logged in and botting

This was discovered as HB would crash when left alone but if I was playing my main at same time would work

Appears root issue is conflicting installed programs but until you nail it down try the above^

Hi Dayno, I will try, let you know thanks alot.

Hi Dayno, I will try, let you know thanks alot.

Running a 64bit secondary client in the background did not resolve my issues, still continues to crash :(

Will continue on my debugging adventure :(

Well after a huge dummy spit, I raged, and re-formatted my computer.... fresh install of windows 7 and clean HB, no crash :*)

Pretty frustrating i had to format my PC though...

things we do too bot....

Regards.

Hi Dayno, I will try, let you know thanks alot.

Sorry it did not help you. If you had to reformat your PC and the hard drive is in working order it sounds like conflicting software - if it starts happening again you might want to check install dates to narrow it down (deal with this stuff all the time at work - IT consultant)!

By the way it was RaptR that was my issue - uninstalling it and now 32bit client works perfectly with no 64 bit client open. Fucking AMD drivers and their default installers.
