WOW Battlechest needs Credit Card?

So I plan on starting a new account next week via a battle chest mostly for trading gold for game-time and I was wondering if you need a credit card at all? I know you get a free month, but will I have to enter in any credit card info before I start the account? I plan n just trading gold for game-time through and for this account.

No, once you activate key it will ask you to enter a billing method but you can just exit that screen and begin to play. So no, no credit card required
