I found that it was kind of worth it even without any XP buff. It's a very reliable way of farming yourself to 100 in one sitting without having to worry about stucks and such.
Only problem was you get no Garrison resources or area progress in any of the WoD areas. Kind of gimps your character if you want to play it in any kind of way.
