I had the same problem with 9926. You can just remove the update by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates and just remove the update(s). For me I think it was update KB3034719 but I'm not entirely sure. You'll have to turn up automatic updating as well. There are a few tutorials to do that however I can post a shell script to do so if anyone wants it.

No good company will help you get their product working on an operating that doesn't even have it's full feature-set in place. HB users should be happy they aren't supporting 10 yet. Any time they spend trying to get a handful of people functioning on an unreleased os is a complete waste. I understand you want to try the newest thing out there, but you have to understand what Technical Preview really means. Microsoft doesn't even provide technical support for preview releases so any expectation of support from the HB devs is silly.

windows 10 is nothing more than a super tweaked 8.2 - if you fail to notice that, you don't really understand where it's going, and whats going on.
there are QUITE A FEW good companies supporting windows 10 TP. AMD, Nvidia, HP - and a few I cannot name (and more that I'm unaware of), you support early because you know your customers are going to it. smart companies do this. companies who at least pretend to value customers.
Microsoft is providing support to my place of employment for windows 10 TP. so, internet rumors, keep them there.
the only users that are happy that a software programmer isn't forward looking, are the ones who still think 7 is the best, or in the past, Refused to move from XP. the VC++ and .NET components on the current TP are going to be force pushed to 8.1 - boom instant breakage. but that could be stopped and made less painful
if the devs were forward thinkers. (this applies everywhere)
but what do I know, I've only been doing this for 20+ years. it's not because I want to try the newest. it's because this newest will be replacing 8/8.1 for a LARGE % of people, within WEEKS of Release.
I'm not asking the devs to do much more than they do now. knowing what versions of what DLLS are linked isn't much.
not like I'm pushing for 64bit.
EDIT: And to be clear, I am running 8.1 right now. which happens to be having the SAME problems as 10 TP people are having. but, I am running 8.1 for the few things (so far, only HB now) that don't work in 10.

Not only do they provide support, they are offering my company huge licensing discounts as INCENTIVE to deploy W10 into our production environment and work with them directly to solve problems that arise. So far there have been surprisingly few issues, and 3/4 of our entire IT department is using W10, along with a quarter of our marketing and sales force.
Might want to avoid saying things that are false, as it sets your entire argument aflame.
This, unfortunately, represents a huge portion of the world. However, I like to think that the people who would regularly use a Bot are generally power users and understand the value in more advanced software.
The fact that you have to say that in such a placating manner is proof positive that the core devs at Bossland are NOT forward thinkers at all. The fact that W10 will even support x86 architecture at all is a miracle all by itself.
The windows 10 9926 update included a "rollback windows" option in the boot menu when you restart your computer. I did the rollback to build 9879 and it works fine again. I will wait to update to the Cortana build at a later time. Until then, it is a much better solution than reinstalling windows 8.

Ah, kicking things off with an assumption. If you have to resort to insulting someone with an opposing viewpoint, your view probably isn't that strong. It doesn't matter if it's a "super tweaked 8.2". It's still pre-release software and enough has changed that has broken programs.
You are confusing the type of support I am speaking of. You can't call Nvidia and expect them to help you get their software working on Windows 10 TP. Likewise with AMD or HP. They won't help you because it's pre-release software and a vast amount of programming changes for each TP. The drivers/software may work and these companies are taking feedback, but no, they aren't directly helping people YET.

Trying to shoe-horn an existing app that you know doesn't work, and that you know WILL break in the next TP is stupid. Good companies don't waste time like that.
Anyone using a preview version of an os and expects companies to just drop what they are doing to make it work just wants to try the newest stuff. Unless you are testing your OWN application or just want to check it out because it's the newest thing, there's no reason to run a TP. And again, business support is very different from end-user support. Frankly I'm shocked your IT department has allowed Windows 10 out on the network. Most companies don't treat their business network as a technology playground, but if that's how things are run there...(yikes)

It was pushed out gradually (over the course of 2 months) and we have only deployed the January update to about 30 computers in our IT department thus far. We are not treating our business network as a "playground". We are being incredibly careful with our deployments and watching everything closely. Also, we have a very close relationship with Microsoft while this is ongoing and they are extremely expedient in fixing issues.
As I said before, we have had surprisingly few issues, and only 2 issues that are unresolvable in the current release. Those issues have already been escalated to the MS dev team and are on the roadmap for the next release. (FYI, one of those issues are regarding backwards compatibility with .net framework, which may or may not also be the problem with HB).
I just came across a post from ChinaJade, and he made a very good point.
This is a good point because if you look at the HB logs during failure there are a string of failures that indicate issues with Visual C++. HB is looking for things that just aren't there anymore, or behaving differently than expected.

One last point to make;
Windows 10 is going to be a FREE upgrade for current Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 users for a year after release. This is a big deal because a LOT of users are going to take advantage of this. A lot of people are predicting that more people will move to Windows 10 on or close to release date than any other Windows release in history.

they have release software for TP, to consumers, that's pretty direct support. they have fixed 10TP ONLY bugs, that's pretty direct support.

you don't know it WILL break, you are just making MORE assumptions. it's not shoe horning anything. it's called compartmentalization; we are not looking to FORCE anything, but if we know what is broken, we can make sure it's fixed.
I am testing Own applications; and other 3rd parties. as weird as it sounds to you, most companies welcome proper bug reports, even from TP releases, they may not act on them, but they welcome them for when it's time to look into for them. saves them TIME AND MONEY.
where was I demanding ANYTHING? I was asking for a possible DLL list. not demanding anything. and we've covered, MS does have support for TP, and NO we are not paying for it.
you do see dozen of threads with the same errors, I'm not going to assume all of them are from 8.1, but I know for a fact, mine is, and at least 2 others.

I'm not expecting for HB devs to go out of their way with this, honestly that would be ridiculous but then I am surprised that someone there hasn't yet installed win 10 on a machine, installed VS and tried to run the solution to see why it fails and if it is tripping up on something minor or not
If the solution turns out to be simple and changing 1 line of code then its really not a huge ask, on the other hand if its going to take huge amounts of effort then ofc wait until the windows 10 builds are closer to complete.
