Will this keep me safe from a ban?

I have 1 Main Account that I cant afford to lose (shadowmourne and soo much more :o) and another that I don't care about. I was going to bot some 85's on the account that I don't care about then transfer them over to my main. Now I don't think this will keep me safe but its worth a try.

Or is there another way to do what im asking or do I just need to stop botting?

Botting is never 100% safe. I have seen people with accounts they never botted on get caught in the crossfire. Maybe bot on a totally separate computer. Is the information on the two accounts the same? As the old saying goes...Don't bot if you can't afford to lose it.

Yes im quite familiar with that saying. The details are the same so would that mean a ban for the both of us then?

Its hard to say. I'd say your chances are pretty low if you keep the accounts completely separated. The less the two cross paths the better I would imagine. Just don't draw too much attention to your botting account. That would be my advice.

If you're not botting on one account, then it shouldn't get banned. But it's all a crapshoot. If your timing is off and one of your chars gets reported around the time you transfer to your main account, then it may get banned.

If your going to do it. Don't use the same credit card to pay for both accounts because your asking for them both to be banned that way.
But if you have a different computer use the other computer to bot on and maybe even run it through a proxy the risks would be really low!

FACT: I have multiple accounts, all with associated battle.net account, credit card and contact details. They are identical in every way with the exception of some being my botting accounts and some being my main (never want to loose accounts). In the last I have lost many many accounts for botting. But only accounts that were botted on were ever banned, I still have non-botted accounts safe and still active.

FACT: Every new account I setup for botting is associated with my legit accounts. Yet they are still safe.

FACT: Blizzard's TOS state that they can and will ban all accounts associated by contact and payment details for any reason.

Botting [and gambling] rule of thumb: never bet/bot what you can't afford to lose.

I did this with 3 chars, I botted them, did a lot of quests and when they were 85 and waited 2 weeks where I didnt bot at all and were more or less active in guild / trade chat.

Edit: Remember the accounts have to be in the same name.
