As the subject says, I was just wondering if HB will ever become a passive bot (such as omega for example) instead of injection based to lower the chances of a detection?

Won't ever happen.

Sorrys.

gimme a good reason...

Was only asking :) From what I understand, passive bots are a lot harder to detect because they don't touch the wow client

Realistically, any bot (passive or otherwise) can be detected by Blizzard if they really wanted to.

I was an Old Lineage 2 botter and I recall that L2Walker (an 3-4 years old Korean bot) was using Ethernet injections and scans, instead of memory.
I dont know shit about the way this could be done in wow but it was purelly undetected and had the faster responses any bot could have.
I also dont know if gamegueard (yeah they used that fucked up protection) was so easy to overcome, but I remember that they always broke down the packages from the network sniffing so they could check what was game related and what was not, so they could inject directly to the port the game was on.
And I repeat it was completely undetected as long as you knew what packages you should inject (the sniffing is undetected anyway).
If this could give you any new ideas I would be glad to provide you with more infos about how it worked.

Yes, it is correct that passive bots are a lot harder to detect. While that is true though, both methods can still be detected and therefore the end user should not worry about the way HB does it. We do everything we can to avoid detection.

L2Walker is a "Proxy" it intercepts incoming and outgoing packets, and can also falsify either or the real marvel about L2 Walker was the ability to use the OoG bot which meant you did not have to have even a lineage 2 client open. This was done by falsifying packets, but Lineage 2, at least, from my experience was extremely susceptible to packet tampering with little to none server side protection. This lead to a rash of untraceable hackings, because you could literally log into people's accounts using your credentials and the server logged it as you logging onto your account.

I recall that the OGG version of Walker was fully detectable just because It could not sent the right packets to the server. And that's why it wasn't used after some L2 Patches. But anyway this was only an idea for packet sniffing instead of memory reading.
Not sure if its possible or even if its already done by any wow bot.
Just food for thought though
