Why the banwave occured NOW

It seems Blizzard has been collecting ban-able accounts for quite a while already, seeing that some ppl had accounts banned on wich they last botted 3-4 months ago.
I think Blizz decided to do the banwave NOW for a simple reason.
Legion releases in a couple of months. Players get banned now. Some period of 'fuck it' occurs. When more and more details spread about Legion and people start longing for it, so do the ppl who's accounts are banned.

They are probably aiming at people buying battlechests and Legion keys in the forthcoming couple of months.


At least, thats how I think it is
 
It may have something to do with the movie as well. They want to clear out as many bots as possible to make the game more appealing for the expected influx of new players that will be interested after seeing the movie.

Rotation botting has been suicide since the banwave last year. Why anyone would do it when you are barely even playing the game at that point, I will never understand.
 
It was also scroll of resurrection week as well. I jumped on the free 7 days, and WoD upgrade. My account got 6 month vacation from blizzard for my effort.
 
Everytime someone asks about HB safety due to past frequent ban waves same veterans dumbasses say "HB is as safe as ever"

What people don't realize is that botting is botting. It doesn't matter if you're rotation botting or farming, you're still breaking the TOS and it's noone's fault but you're own that you got banned.

If you really get this mad at HB for losing your account...An account that you were told NEVER to bot on if you want to keep, you really should really take a step back and look at your life.

Botting is like playing Russian Roulette with a 6-shooter with 5 bullets in it. You may dodge the bullet for awhile, but you're eventually going to get killed off.

Well, a battlechest (including ALL expansions + month gametime) is purchaseable for €7,50 now.

But what I meant in my OP was, if this ban happened like in January or something, people would have long decided wether they wanted to continue playing or not. But now, players who initialy tend to put WoW aside may well be persuaded to play again because of Legion launch (and maybe the movie as well)

No, actually. It's not like that at all.

Granted they may not be done doling out suspensions yet, but there is many of us that have survived so far.
 
I got got a 6 month ban. First time ever. All i use was garrison bot. Its a shame they ban for 6 months still not 100% sure. I will be calling activion and yelling.
May not help but makes me feel better
 
The messed up part is my main account that has never seen the bot used on it got banned along with my 2 that i was botting on dam. Makes me wonder if this has happem to any one else
 
i dont get this price, is that old version of battlechest without actual WoD which was added just two days ago? Cuz if I go through official shop in normal way Battlechest costs 14.99€ but includes WoD

anyway im looking to buy solo WoD key to get original lvl90 boost so if anyone has some eshop for price around 5€, link please
