Why is Honorbuddy installation recommended over zip file?

I always prefered the zip file. It's easy to deal with and doesn't complain about changed exe names.

Probably because people are stupid enough to mess up an un-zip rather than running a installation program.

Why would you change exe names?

Because for some reason people think renaming the .exe hides their botting.
But we accept that some people need their safety blanket.

The main reason for using the installer is that the Honorbuddy installer will install the prerequisites such as .NET and C++ redistributables.
Without them, Honorbuddy will not run.

I don't feel comfortable running something called honorbuddy.exe if Blizzard can scan what running programs I have (and I read they can).

Geez, I don't know how many times we have been over this.
IF blizzard are scanning your processes and programs, they would not be so f** idiotic and make a check for filenames. It would be written to scan what ALL processes do on a binary level i.e how it operates with RAM and how it injects, read or in other ways interact with WoW.exe.

I'd gladly pay a genorous amount of money to the one evading a ban, suspension or banwave by simply renaming HB.exe or WoW.exe. It simply wont happen.

It's like removing all your BMW decals from your BMW-car, put AUDI stickers on it and giving it to an Audi workshop - and hoping the workshop won't be able to tell the difference...

HAHAH

thats the same as saying

I don't feel comfortable driving something called a ( place random name here ) Car if the cops can see the tire tracks (and I see they can)

call it what you like if it is in blizzards memory its still going to get you banned
