I believe that the forum and download should ONLY be available to a registered user who has purchased a key. Is there any specific reason you let the public view the forum who have not purchased a key? and why on earth would you let anyone and everyone download demonbuddy if they have not purchased it?.....

having the public download opens it up to the people who c.rack DB, as well as making all of the information about DB readily available to blizzard

All of that would still happen if it was private. Private would not prevent that even one iota.

But it would also impose a roadblock to prospective new DB users from learning what they need to know before making a purchase of the product, likely leading to less purchases of the product and therefor less revenue for DB.

would make a huge diffrence... some buy a key, ***** it share it .... and bliss u think they dont have 20€ for a key to check latest profiles?

Yea, it's not like Blizzard (a billion dollar corporation) couldn't afford to purchase a couple of keys and access the forums anyway.

imo at least SOME parts of the forum should only be available to registered users who purchased a key, ie. profiles, plugins.

I definitely see what you are saying about the roadblock, but making it harder for people to get a brand new version of DB to c.rack or for blizzard to download and pick apart would probably help prevent some of the problems that are happening.

Edit: I see i started a shit storm just forget I ever said anything and leave everything public and extremely easy to access by anyone that wants it.

You are not making it harder for them, at all. If they want it, they get it. Private or not. Blizzard doesnt need to reverse engineer DB in order to ban DB users, we make our botting activity obvious enough for them already.

It's kind of an irony, DB devs/hackers is used to take advantage of blizzard products, and other devs/hackers take advantage of DB with their c..r...acked versions O.o

I would see why this would be a benefit, the whole open forum is fine to be in public, but they should make any download link require a registration account with a valid DB key.

This way, forums are still open to view publicly, but if you want to download anything, you'll need a registration account with a valid key. This would weed out those c..r.a..cked users abit.

Edit: If the account with a valid key is shared on other forums, you can easily track that down and block the account/key.

Or you can do what other bots did in other games I had, it bound each key with a computer hwid. That way, if it doesn't return the correct computer hwid, it won't connect.

db team makes hella money from this being public and they do not care about d3 economy unlike the rest of us so go figure \=

while i still think the forum should be at least only be viewable for a registred user, i can understand that it's not because it is also a good advertisement. still i thought it was kinda odd when last night this forum became part of a discussion on a stream and threads had 50+ guests in them, reading. makes me rethink if i want to share information here.

we already replied on such threads like 100 times before

thread clsoed
