Why do we need to check IRC when theres a forum?

I am just curious as to why we need to look at IRC when there is a forum for HB. I understand that you can't provide updates by the half hour or so, but if there's a lot more info to be put out that is being put on IRC, why can't you put it on the forums?

I wasn't saying I was being forced to and I usually just check when, but just curious as to why the info gets put on IRC and not on forums. I asked a general question and I get all the lefts and rights. Its ok tho, was just hoping someone would explain what more info is put out in IRC then in the forums.

Posting something quick on IRC simply is easier then posting it in the forums, it doesn't take as much time. I find it pretty OK that only the important stuff is put on the forums.

Your acting as if they are only posting on the IRC, the IRC is just there for those that are so freakin eager they can't wait for an official post, they want to know the very second! It's still posted on the forums.
