why do people run 5 man heroic instead of normal dungeons?

I read "5 man mop heroic teams" but I read that loot is the same for both. I did a few heroic ones and I didn't notice the boss drop more gold

In HC you earn much more gold from daily dungeon hc + complete dungeon, total around 60-70g more per run.
