Thing is when I got ban I haven't even botted in 1 month. I've had just wow sub open but didn't play it much expect some arenas now and then where I don't use bot.

I was detected long time ago. So why not just ban me instant?

What if blizzards bans everyone instant? Wouldn't that be huge loss for blizzard? Basically people couldn't bot anymore and most would quit.

But by giving them 6 month chance they know that they been botting for some time now. Now you have convenient discount like last time (at least for eu). So hey I could bot 6 months + pay only 20 bucks. Of course I will bot again it's no biggie.

But for blizzard they can announce they banned everyone to get huge rispect from non botting people thinking that bots are now "gone" and game is "clean". And same time knowing that they get huge amount of botters back in game after paying extra 20 bucks (+20 for possible character transfer) (+50 for possible legion expansion) + Subscription again.

to scare people into thinking it's a banwave so they convert back to non-botting, it's effective because in the ban reports threads you get plenty of people stating banwave when only 3 got banned that day.

I don't understand.

What you mean "thinking". There was banwave. Or do you mean in smaller scale? Like they would randomly ban 25%-50% botters example? If that's case then could be because they need their subs.

I believe they ban people in waves to catch *****ers off guard. Also no one will be able to catch on to their methods of detection quite as easy if people don't know it's coming.

It's once again the game of cat and mouse. The cat will catch a lot more mice the longer it stays quiet.

They ban in waves because, if they immediately banned when you opened a bot, then it wouldnt take Bossland too long to find out exactly what caused the ban. With waves Bossland has to wait 6 months +- to see if their new "fix" works.

Its like giving a person 3 attempts at a password, if they fail you lock the account for 15 minutes when they can try again, it will take hackers longer to find the password.

The ban in waves as it great for PR/Press and keeping the existing user-base very happy. Minimal bans over time dont make any splash in the news cycles.

Banning in waves also makes a very good profit spike in specific times of the year, as although many people say they are done with WoW, there are loads more that purchase new accounts on the spot and continue where they left off that morning. I know I did, and I know I'm not alone in that.

It also is a way for Blizz to generate cash flow at a time of thier choosing.

1. timed right blizz will have a big numbers increase for Legion sales due to all of us botters re-subbing on new accounts, which is a cash inflow for Blizzard and also great for the shareholders of activision.

2. Boosting services for us that dont want to risk getting banned leveling, and wanting to get to endgame where the fun is.

3. As stated somewhere else in these forums Blizzard seem to ban near the beginning of and Xpac to accomplish all of these things ..not to mention if they just banned us when we attached a bot everytime we would just hang it up and quit..no more $$ for Blizz.

Sorry Rooster I suppose it kind of just as you said

In CSGO, Valve detects a ch34t and waits for it to get as many downloads as possible within a time range. After several weeks to months of people downloading the "undetected and popular" ch34t, they send the banhammer. It's kinda effective to make people stop ch34ting.
