WHM concern wity Kupo and Magitek (need feedback)

Currently leveling a conjurer/white mage with fate bot and grind bot and have been alternating between Kupo and Magitek.

My issue is that while using Kupo, my character will cast protect on itself every time it kills a monster (unless there are multiple monsters attacking me at one time) within a fate and while using Magitek combat routine, my character doesn't cast protect on itself at all.

Even though I have protect checked to be cast while running Magitek, it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have an easy fix for this issue?
