Depends on how many instances of wow and HB ya run. Should be fine for a couple, but more than that u need more ram and video.

AMD has problems with bots (is slow) intel CPU is always better choice

how many bots were you running with an amd processor when you started having problems?

for me problems = CPU use per bot not "bot stops working/is buggy"

same price intel CPU can usually start twice as many bots as AMD (for example Intel I5 VS some $150 AMD I5 can run 20+ bots AMD less than 10 ... )

im just curious which $150 amd processor you used to test this.

Generally speaking at the low end CPUs AMD is quite competitive with intel. However once you get into the 180+ intel swiftly overcomes.

I don't think any other cpu can compete with the fx8320 at the 155$ price range atm.

Hell i know i can beat the i3 4150 most days with a fx 6300.

Also i'm a huge intel fanboy I won't give up my 4790k for nothing <_<

my fx4100 does everything i want it to do, and clocks to 4.7 on air [in the wintertime]

cost me $99

fx8320 is competing with I5 not I3 on price
I5 = around $150
I7 = around $300

fx8320 can not run 20+ bots
I5 can run 20+ bots

fx8320 uses more electricity also, requires better cooling, more expensive memory ...

problem is WOW is very CPU dependent and is not optimized for AMD plus AMD has lower performance per GHz

which AMD CPU did you use (model), and how many bots did you run on it max?

AMD Athlon X4 750K, EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti, Corsair 200R - System Build - PCPartPicker

This is slighlty over budget because I did the prices in USD at first herp im bad.

Either drop a stick of ram 4g or move from a 750 ti to a 750 and you'll be back near that 550$ mark. This is much better than either of those store bought computers and if you can watch about 30 minutes in youtube building your own pc is quite easy.

If you need more info you can message me.

i said around $150

While in the US i can see an i5 at around 180$ on sale atm in canada the gap is greater and 40$ can change a lot in terms of parts. While i've not personally benched any AMD cpus at running honorbuddy. I do know many of their new core are better for running games while doing other things. IE AMD cpus are better at WoW and encoding a video for streaming than most of intel CPUs ever will be. I just imagine raw power takes over at some point and intel wins.

i multi-task like a mofo. i run 4 instances of wow+hb on one monitor and hd video/browser on the other monitor. background software, lot of times convertXtodvd making dvd's for the fams. dont mention the 40+ torrents running 24/7

fx4100
16g ram
gigabyte 990fxa mobo
ssd+3tb storage
5050btu AC blowing in one end of the case keeps the box nice and cool in this Oklahoma heat.

which I5 can run more than 20 bots? i have a 4440. 10 is limit. i think you are dreaming. i5 is far away from 20 bots.

I am running an I7 with 6 mb ram and have problems with running 5 without lagging bots.

my I7 4770 runs 20 bots with 50% of CPU used so I5 with 4 cores VS 8 on I7 should be able to run 20 especially since I5 has real 4 cores and I7 4 real and 4 HT, possibly you did not optimize your HB and WOW, find thread about that here on HB
