Was wondering if there is an archive of old DB versions?

It seems this is not allowed or the poster of the zip's will be banned.
Go talk to the Dev's..see if you get anywhere.

Not only banned, but also have their DB key(s) that they paid for revoked (wouldn't be surprised if it was without refund, too)

Thanks TehMorbid.

It seems like it would be appreciated by everyone to have the option to downgrade if there are any issues with a new release.

Its kinda ironic because I just got done telling someone that my champ farms were able to run 24/7 without issues.

I'll just start to download DB manually instead of auto-updating so I can keep an archive for myself.

It's always a smart idea to keep previous versions around. I keep all releases in a "storage" folder. It's not like they take up a lot of space anyway.

its not possible, as every time there's a new version you get the downloads fresh from our build server so you always get the latest release as soon as its ready to be pushed. hence there's no old versions available for download, since there's no need for us to get an old version since all changes are made to the build-server and we can rollback or look at changes if needed.

That's a great idea in theory.
Except you released an extremely buggy version and can't/don't roll it back because "the people in europe are sleeping".
Also, just because your system is not currently set up to do something, does not mean "it's not possible".

unless you agree with this statement, of course:
"I don't currently have Diablo II installed, therefor it is impossible for me to ever run Diablo II on my computer."

But see, right now there is a need for us to get an old version, because the new version doesn't work, and hasn't been changed or rolledback. That's not even the main point though, which is that for some inexplicable reason we're not allowed to post an older, actually working reason. I can understand a update having bugs; shit happens when coding a complex program. But Tony's post in the release thread is by any standard merit-less and draconian.

PS: I fixed this problem w/ a solution under Announcements on the ciggarc.com forums.

The problem I see with users posting older versions is possibly malware being attached but that could be alleviated by having an official archive from bossland. ;)

fck this. please take you time in updating! Im pretty sure that HB is main priority! We in db can chill for a week or so with bugged version no worries! Like for real.

@OP and the others

there wont be an archives section for old DB or something

if you want to keep old build do it on your machine

That's useful customer support right there!
About as useful releasing non-functional versions ;)

In all seriousness though, you should consider adding a secondary link that provides the "last known working version", just in-case events like this occur.
Send it up the food-chain!

Not hard at all for me.
However why don't you take a look at the like, 50+ posts on the forum today that were asking for an old build?
It's not much harder for you guys to provide an additional link than it is for me to keep an old copy on my machine :)

yep i saw the threads

sometimes people have to be patient...Nesox is on it and it will be fixed asap

haha that was a good one!

90days mute :)

cya

Clearly you cannot handle a light hearted joke.

Banning somebody for 90 days because you are having a cry and want to show off your awesome admin powers!!!! Some of the stuff he has been doing to abuse his admin powers reminds me of the autocratic draconian age.

Tony mate you are losing a lot of friends these days with the stuff you are saying and enforcing on these forums. Not a good thing to be disliked by the people when you are nothing but a community mod. Keep it up and there goes your job! ;P

- End of Sarcasm (please don't ban)
