Where the HECK are all these bans comming form?(helpful tips)

Guys. WTF is going on here. I dont get it. how does one get banned, botting??? You need to just bot normally. What i mean is, botting was never meant to replace you by any means. Its just a tool to get a bit ahead thats it. Then we have Joe Shmoe botting for 18 hours straight and he comes in here asking if HONORBUDDY is safe??

Let me be the 10,500 person to say bot at your own risk. I been doing it for about a year now on MULTIPLE accts including my ITM lvl 364 Holy Paladin main. How with no bans you ask?? Here is what I do for myself to keep it safe.

Dont bot more than you would normaly play. Its that simple. If the bot is gonna mimic you REALLY let it just do that. 5-12 hours is perfect. 13-16 hours is pushing it. and 17-24 is You're asking for a ban.

DO NOT POSt 500 stacks of Pyrite Ore on the AH. Sell it through /2 in small quantities. WTF and this goes for Leather, herbs etc.

DO NOT add more ADDONS or PLUGINS or turn on features then whats necessary. Just dont do it. Sure, the dev's here are EXTREMELY talented. And I do mean VERY! BUT I limit myself to:: Kill mob, loot mob, loot chest, vendor and turn in quest. I dont even train or talent in. No FP learning I rather my toon ride across Kalimdor then to get stuck trying to catch a FP.

Sometimes when I leave my bot mining all day (usually 10 hours) I come home and I open a ticket to Blizzard. yea thats right I go looking for "THE MAN".. why??? Because it makes what I did for the past 10 hours REAL. I say SOMETHING to the effect of::
.."Hey <Blizz GM> I was farming all damn day and I ran into a few problems. Some Mines dissapeared as I tried to mine them and idk whats going on with that....."

Last but not least, update your HB/GB etc CLIENTS. Update them as they are released. Re-SVN your profiles etc.

Be safe, be a good botter, and be normal. The point of this is, to be there when you cant. Dont abuse and DO NOT be greedy. Making 14k gold in a week span is the SAME AMOUNT you will make if you try to go hardcore and make 14k in 1 day. Its still 14k gold man. Relax and you will get there.

Edit::::::::: I do in fact use the FLYING paid plugin key feature. That is a necessity for any farmer or lvl 81-85. It just makes things smooth.

It is quite a good post... most of the info would be usfull to players who are new or are QQ'ing about being banned for botting 24/7.....


EDIT: If I were you, I would never send a ticket to to a GM saying you had issues with some mines because they may look back though your account. I think that would be a way to get the ban hammer imo.

Yeah moderation is KEY. I wont bot for any longer then i would actually play if i have nothing to do for a full day. i try to not break the 12 hour mark but NEVER break the 14 hour mark. Only banned one time when i was grinding for 38 hours at a time. Over 4 years of botting and only lost 1 account. Moderation and a little luck can go a long way.

I guess it all depends on player reports.
 
also mixing things up, dont just have your bot run the same profile all the time, make your own profiles, or dont use popular ones. if someone is in that spot, using that profile then dont use that profile.
 
It's not just about moderation, sorry tested it. 12 hours isnt a gaurantee that you're not a bot, if it was then I wouldnt have had two bots banned going 12 hours a day.. its not.

At the same time I have a char going 24 hours a day in instances/archeo but its the gathering. Stop acting like its just some idiots farming 18 or 24 hours a day, it worked for at least a year, and I do accept the fact you cant farm for 24 hours anymore, but its something else than farming hours. I thought 12 hours would be reasonable but it still gets you banned. 12 hours is not 500 pyrite stacks either, its more like 10-20.

I must be missing something but as of late this definitely isn't worth the money anymore if you cant do 12/hrs a day. It could be the profile sure, but its not the hours it's something else they're monitoring and I don't know what. They're definitely linking accounts a lot more per gold sale, and when all my gold buyers on their own start saying "very hard to trade/buy gold, must do all guild withdraws" then I know its not just me. I always ask for guild withdraws and they would say cant do, f2f only blah blah.

You sound like the player that bots for ingame advancement etc, I'm not that player. I'm glad it works for you but I would never bot on an account that I find valuable. Although many accounts now a days arent as valuable as you think.

Anywho, it's got to be something with mining/herbing, and I certainly know they're tracking the guild bank sales a lot more now, as someone said they do the whole buying enchantment thing and filtering thru AH.. might be worth it now. Maybe switching up profiles is good every now and then but how different can they be for one zone?

14k in a week is hardly worth it. You underestimate the amount you can make in a day, I made 35k in one 20 hour day.. 15k is about what you make with 12 hours, which is fine thats 105k a week, $105 a week per account. I can do 12 hours, but theres something else going on that we're not seeing. I dont list ridiculous amounts of auctions (you can't really when you only do 10-12 a day, thats maybe 150 stacks of ore a day and you could split that up over time anyway), and I've had accounts nailed the same week they were made before even selling gold, so its not just selling gold thats getting me, its not just the hours.

I could ramble on all day, fact is in the last 1.5 months I've gotten one account banned a week - i dont bother posting them anymore, because i get them unbanned pretty much within a day.. so i've had a lot of leeway to try to figure out what they're monitoring.. it baffles me there are people with 5+ accounts 24/7 that are just now getting banned as they're been stricter for atleast a month now.

So for now, its easy to point fingers and say play time, but here I am saying 12 hours doesn't seem to cut it, unless they're monitoring pingbuster IP's and I'm just getting dinged on that.. I dont use my home IP and I have VMs.

I KNOW! I feel like I'm the damn poster boy for bannings.. and somehow there are still new people coming around saying wow i just got nailed after so long of running 24/7.. I'm like what, jesus what have I been doing that gets me flagged but others still going a month after me, doing the same stuff..
 
RAF game months, can get them for 10k a month.. as many months as you want.. lot cheaper and no linkages, pm me if you want
 
I've been botting nearly 24/7 since I bought the bot. No ban yet, I might just be lucky though.
