I have a handful of level 60's I've used for Raf'ing and such and have no need for them any more. Can anyone tell me of any sites that will buy the characters off of the account? I know they aren't worth a ton, but anything will help.

search our forums and you will find threads about it

playerauctions is a favourite site for many users
(never tried it tho)

I saw there was a similar post a few days ago, but it kind of turned into a flame war over whether or not its viable to sell level 80 accounts regularly. I'm just looking to sell off some 60's to a web site preferably.

I’ll check out player auctions, thanks for the tip!

I bought a 450miner/herb hunter off of PA from some Panther101 guy, was about 75 bucks for the level 80 hunter (good price I thought), after they "verified" the account was all good and stuff, they emailed me off the account information for me to check out. I logged into my .net account and the thing had NO WoW account attached to it, but conveniently had SC2 and WC3..

Top that off the seller spoke the poorest english ever, and PA wouldnt handle it for me and left it up to me to decipher his poor language skills, after a day or so I managed to have him give me a 450 mining/skinning warrior that was "worth" 10 dollars more (not to me, because I wanted mining/herbalism but he didnt have another toon with it), but to my dismay the character wasnt as described again.. and had no epic flying. Once I gave that dude a negative feedback he decided it was worth his time to shell out the 5kg to have me email PA to remove my feedback.. before that he refused to give me 5kg to buy epic flying.

After that apparently my other account I bought for farming, the seller included some email info for me to contact him if I had any issues.. PA decided that was "insider trading" or "off-site" trading since he gave me the info and told me I owed them $150 bucks..

A fine will be incurred. Fine amount will be determined by calculating your past 30 day daily Commission Fee average. 150% of your average 30 day daily Commision Fee will represent the fine amount with a minimum fine of $150.
Your PlayerAuctions account will be suspended for 3 days.
Your deposit requirement will be doubled. Your account will not be reactivated until the balanced is fulfilled.
We had suspended your PlayerAuctions account for 3 days, and fine you $150 for this.
Also you need to keep a double deposit level which is $300 in our deposit account if you want to reactivate your account on PlayerAuctions.
Please send your total payment $450 to our Paypal deposit account: [email protected] and contact us once done, thanks.

$150 comes because I had been farming on EQ2 for a bit with ISXEQ2 and decided that harvesting bot was shit compared to gatherbuddy.. but really, 450 bucks cause some seller sent me info to contact him outside of PA? Ontop of the shitty service that they claim their commission is worth for verification purposes..

Just my 2c, it's good for sellers even though until you're a powerseller, they take their 10% currency + 5 fee out of your currency sales then tell you to wait 2-3 BUSINESS days to get the money unless you're a huge power seller. I'm sure some people have had good success with PA, but after buying a "verified" wow account without wow on it, yikes.

I'd rather go sign up under a proxy and skip the 450, their detection services arent very good.

The only good experience I ever had with PlayerAuctions was way back in 2004 when I bought a toon for the game EQOA for PS2, and it really only went well cause the seller was Shane Benson who was one of the founding creators of PlayerAuctions. I sold probably 7 WoW toons through them a year or two after that and it was a headache each time cause they buyers all tried to do PayPal chargebacks once they got the accounts. PlayerAuctions support did not try to help in the least other than to tell me to leave the buyer negative feedback. After the first 2 or 3 times experiencing scammers trying to do charge backs after purchasing account I would hold out from giving them email address and password for the account for 90 days since PayPal didn't honor a chargeback request 90 days after a transaction. Oh the lessons one learns when buying and selling in the MMORPG world! :D

Yah they claim to protect you against chargebacks.. but now a days the buyers are the ones to be scared since you can do account recovery now with your PHOTO ID and get back your account no matter what.. so if a buyer chargebacks on you then you can just account recovery..
