What's your take on the new battle 0.45.0

Here's my gripe about the new gym battle changes.

Ok, basically Niantic doesn't want any teams to hog the gyms so they had this fantastic idea of leveling the battles across different trainer levels and giving handicaps to low level trainers making battles seem more even. I get that, we don't want to exclude low level trainers and making them feel discouraged for wanting to enter the game. So I don't have any problems with that. My 1,000 pokemon is going to guard the gym almost as effetively as my 2,000 pokemon so I don't need to leave him at the gym, but I can get to keep it as part of my battles. Great!

The other thing they did, they increased the amount of level of prestige a gym loses every time a pokemon gets knocked dow. It used to take down 500 points for each pokemon plus one 1000 bonus point if you defeat the last one. I'm okay with that. They also made it harder to build up gyms. So in one side they made it easier for people to knock down gyms, but much harder to building. That last part is BAD.

But the real problem is not how hard or easy it is to knock down a level 10 gym with 2000+ pokemons. The real problem is the amount of time it takes to take down those 10 pokemons.

How about making battles that take less time, and produce more damage.

Make it equally easy for trainers to build gyms up as well as it is to tear them down.

Here's my suggestion (To Niantic if they ever read this.

  • Change Battle Timers to 45 seconds
  • Double the power of every pokemon moves so the fights end faster. (or decrease the amount of hits needed to get knocked donw)
  • Give or Take Gym Prestige by 1000 points for every pokemon is knocked down.
  • Take down 1000 Prestige points for every time a gym loses a level in addition to the 1000 Prestige points you earn when you defeat all pokemons of an enemy gym.

Don't make it easy on ocassional users who will nevel value the importance of guarding gyms or nurture pokemons. If they have 700 level pokemons, they should be able to use two of them in order knock down a 1400 level pokemon in similar battle conditions. Of course trainers who learn to dodge, should be able to keep their pokemon alive for a good while.
